Switzerland. had the baby, stayed to wean her, left her with a family.. then, Edith went back, against her Aunt's good wisdom, to get the baby and place her with Mr. Drewe, who is the pig farmer on the estate. Edith and Mr. Drewe are the only ones who know that it's her baby [he guessed, having originally been told it was the child of a dear friend of whom the family didn't approve, so she couldn't be raised in the Abbey].... Big difference!

I need subtitles on Downton, I swear, even with rewinding the dvr I only pickup about 80% of what is said. Can anyone remind me how she got her daughter to that family...was Mrs. Hughes involved or anyone else in on the secret, I forget? She was able to calculate 1924 + 34 in her head quickly without even thinking about it, but then spent the rest of the episode crying about how stupid she is with numbers. Love the name Marigold and how much Edith obviously loves her. I am so glad they are going to develop that story line. And, of course, the acerbic remarks by The Dowager are always a treat. She was doing her fair share of meddling last night and she was loving every minute of it. My husband and I both groaned when the horrible Fanny Ferris Dashwood appeared, which just proves how good that actress is. I especially loved the lifeguard stand and boat. Sad sunflowers made for a funny photo anyway! I think it's great you take so many of Katie and Emma. I'm guilty, too. I'm taking photos of a new grandson born December 30. He's a big hunk of love...12 lb. 1 oz. and 23 1/2 inches long. Mercy, looks grown, but he's newborn and I love those opportunities. She's brash, outspoken and rude ... I do not see her with Tom. Yes, Sybil was outspoken but she was never brash or rude ... he can do FAR better than this. I agree with Susan about feeling like "old friends" have returned. Enjoyed it and did a DVR so I can watch again. It was quite a good episode but I think Mary needs to look further than Lord Gillingham ... I am such an Emma/Katie picture fan. Then - sure enough, I did get a little peek! I love your photos. The one of the house reminds me of The Brady Bunch because there was always that image of a house they showed during transitions. It was supposed to be their house, but there's no way that huge living room, huge kitchen, family room, dad's big office, and then upstairs just three bedrooms (and one ridiculously small bathroom for six kids - with no toilet, I think Greg got the attic eventually) would fit in it.BeeBellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14393355368344727734noreply@blogger.com
