Red Carpet 2017. The Golden Globes.

  In no particular order....

I loved the risk of this dress.  This year since I was following the red carpet in pictures on the internet, I was not able to see the dresses move until I watched the show.  The moving dresses are much better in most cases.  I love color and prints and this is just so interesting and different.
Olivia Culpo looks stunning in her Zuhair Murad gown.

This is beautifully classic with a modern feel.
Cristy Teigen in her Marchesa.

I really love Kristen Wiig in her Reem Acra dress.

Viola Davis in Michael Kors.  This dress was perfect on her.  She looks beautiful.

I thought this dress was yellow...but it is gold.  I think it is a risky choice....something we haven't seen before.  Beautiful.
Kerry Washington/Dolce

Zoe Saldana.
This is my favorite.  LOVE.

Gucci

Milly Bobby Brown from Stranger Things in the perfect dress for a 12 year old.
Jenny Packham dress...like the Duchess of Cambridge (Kate)
Milly is from England and is delightful.

This dress stood out on stage.
Naomie Harris looking sparkly and gorgeous.

Prada makes a maternity dress for Natalie Portman.  It is so lady-like and vintage-y and regal.
I just love it.  They call this color green....I thought it was yellow...but I can kinda see it as green if I squint.  Lovely.  So lovely.

Caitriona Balfe from Outlander in a unique dress.  The fabric and flower and cut are gorgeous.
Personally I would not have gone with the Chicago Bears colors.  Not sure what color I would pair with that blue...
What do you think?

A very sweet moment from the show.  Dev Patel walked out with the little boy he acts with in Lion.
Their suits look identical and it was just the cutest thing....
They were both absolutely adorable and charming.

Okay!
That's it for now.
I've got to get ready for school.

Love you.
Miss You.

Tell me what you think?

Encourage one another,
Donna

  1. I think ... I will need to go see Lion after all. I really thought it would be hard to see but so many people are raving about it I might just give it a shot.

Your picks are so much fun! The only dress I would change is that I would make the sleeves on Kristen Wiig's dress shorter. I think Natalie Portman is still using Jackie O as her muse after making that movie!

So glad you have Cait Balfe on your list. Her choices are always so interesting to me. I'm sure it's from all her years walking the run way. She seems to have a more high fashion aesthetic. I was hoping she would win. As much as I loved Claire Foy in The Crown, I think Cait was better. Kristi in LV

  4. Love Caitriona Balfe in Outlander ~
    as you I'm not a fan of the orange on that dress;
I would have chosen black or pink FWIW ;-)
    Happy New Year!

  5. Anything you an see through to granny panties is an automatic no for me. Sorry Kerry Washington. You are a beautiful woman and a total powerhouse. You deserve better. (Watch yourself Kristin Wiig...that mini lining needs a few more inches.)

I love Caitriona Balfe's dress, but I'm a Broncos and Bears fan. ;) She or Naomi Harris win the night for me.

Do you ever read Go Fug Yourself? Love those ladies and their take on fashion.

My favorite is Natalie Portman- but then I love vintage style. She couldn't possibly look any more elegant or classy. Perfection. The see-through dresses just make me cringe. I love Viola Davis's dress too. It fit her perfectly and just made her shine as the talented lady she is. Always look forward to your picks!

  8. I must have my head in the sand - I did not even know the Golden Gloves were on until after the fact. I agree that Go Fug Yourself is on-point, and very witty. Despite a name that I am embarrassed to say aloud. :-)

  9. Hey! I came over from Renee's blog to see your faves. I thought Kristen Wiig looked great too; I really love her pixie haircut! And your fave (Zoe) was also one of my faves!!
I won't ever understand how so many of them though wear them Soooooooo low cut. I don't know if there's enough tape in the world to keep my parts in a dress like that?! :)

  10. Always love your recaps! So much glamour and beauty to enjoy with these shows.

We loved Lion, too. Dev and the little guy are both adorable. :)

  11. Didn't watch the Golden Globes and I only knew who three of those people were. Dev Patel and the little boy in Lion and Natalie Portman, and I haven't seen her in anything since she made her first Star Wars movie. I loved the first dress. So regal and just perfect. And Lion is really a great movie.

  12. This place is a gem in this wasteland of small bars. Came at LA venue here on a Saturday night around 9:30, not too crowded at that time. Ordered 2 beers and fries and the total was around $16.
