Superman
Just after Christmas my sister Cindy came to visit. We went to the mall.
We saw this policeman walk slowly by.
Holding this little boys hand.
They were both serious and calm and our hearts went out to the little fellow.
And his mother.
Five minutes later I saw the reunion.
I had to hold back the tears.

Yesterday Katie and I were on our way home from school. As we neared a stop sign we saw
a slightly chubby boy of about eight waiting and watching us. He was wearing a superman coat and he was watching carefully to make sure we were coming to a stop.
When my car bumped stop, he nodded a bit and started running across the street.
After two or three steps he threw his arms back behind him just like he was flying!
We nearly died.
It was the cutest thing.
He made our day!!!
Encourage one another,
Donna

Oh that is an adorable story about the Super Boy...............also love the picture of the Police man and the small boy. That Mom must have been frantic! Our Police force doesn't get anywhere near the recognition and appreciation that they deserve. YAY for Mankind! Karen F.
ReplyDeleteOh , the places our imagination took us as children. Sweet story.
ReplyDeleteI know that mama was so grateful to that police officer!
That picture of the policeman and the little boy and the story of the superman flying boy are both priceless! Ever since you had the entry about quotes in literature, great sentences have just been leaping out at me. I am currently reading Lisette's List by Susan Vreeland and yesterday I read, "No matter where life takes you...the place where you stand at any moment is holy ground. Love hard and love wide and love long, and you will find the goodness in it."
ReplyDeletelove and prayers, jep
I am adding this book to my to-be-read pile, Jep. That quote is perfect.

That is the cutest story I have ever heard. Little Super Man.
ReplyDeleteOne time when Kaishon was 5, we went to JC Penney at the Mall. He loved the escalator and he begged to go up and come down all by himself. I let him do it and he LOVED it. He asked if he could do it again and I obliged. Only this time, he hid under a perfume table at the top. I was standing next to lawnmowers waiting to see his little face. It didn't come. My heart started racing. I ran up the moving steps and tears were spurting out of my eyes. Then I saw him. So proud of himself for finding a great hiding place. I have never lost him again.
What a gift to be able to witness both the touching reunion and the flying Super Boy!! :)
ReplyDeleteaww Children...are so delightful!
ReplyDeleteI got lost at Disneyland when I was five. Maybe that is why I don't consider it the happiest place on earth!?!
ReplyDeleteWe are cheering on your Packers today. So far, so great! Aaron looks so poised and awesome.
Love Little Superman! So cute.
Love,
