I love the bride and groom. Except his flood pants, not so much.
I love the quote. I collect gratitude/thankful quotes and I am so happy to add this to them.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something from 2006 or another year, but this seems to me to be the best week of blogging in the history of Quiet Life. Thank you. I know you work hard at it, for nothing more than words of gratitude, but we are deeply thankful for the spot you've made here.
I had the same thought! Although, there were some stretches in 2010 that were rich, too. But downton abbey seems to have brought us all out of the woodwork!
Love the picture of the bride and groom on the tree stump............and you KNOW which is my favorite! You always find the neato cool stuff Donna! Karen F.
I agree with Carol...about flood pants AND the banner week here at Quiet Life. Such good stuff from you, Donna, and such wisdom from your QLCS. It is a good place in the midst of all the internet is.
I can see my Claire dressing EXACTLY like the Call of the Midwife gal. Red lipstick, the deep brown curls...the whole shebang. Isn't the collar on that dress gorgeous? Wow.
It's a birthday weekend here. A half dozen girls are descending on my house in about 31 hours for a Dr. Who birthday extravaganza. I am just so grateful for the girl who offered to make a Tardis birthday cake. Mine would look like a bright blue volcano...I cannot frost a cake to save my life.
Happy Friday, all. I'll be thinking of you all with gratitude when I pick up my holds at the library today (-:
Scott has been a Dr. Who nerd since the 70s. He still has the scarf he made and th K-9 he built himself. I love it -'but I still miss David Tennant and Rose. I think I always will!
I LOVE the photo of Caroline with President Kennedy. So sweet. There is a wonderful and quite large book called Remembering Jack filled with images taken by the Kennedy family photographer Jacques Lowe. There are so many gorgeous private moments captured of their young family. The photographer's nagatives, his entire body of work, was stored in a safe deposit box in the World Trade Center and was destroyed on 9/11. The book is comprised of images that were printed out at some point and stored elsewhere. It's lovely. You should check it out!
Also, love that attic bedroom! I have a dream of converting our attic into a sweet little girly haven for my Mary Alice. :)
I LOVE Lisa Congdon; her artwork and her year of quotations and lettering. I have a totebag with her Birches on a turquoise background and I have about worn it to shreds (my daughter found it for me at Target some years ago, a Pocketo design).
But I digress ...
I echo what Carol and Di said. I think QL is wonderful every week, hence my heart-felt commitment to reading daily. But this week was over the top great.
Made me glad that we had wifi while we were away so I didn't miss a thing.
I love the wedding picture--I love that she's wearing a sweater and a scarf over her dress! So functional and cozy, but still plenty pretty. I think I'm going to make my dream wedding an autumn one now. :) And that JFK photo--so darling. Thank you for sharing!
