rabbit trail

DSC_0312

I love Pyrex bowls.
It is their 100th anniversary this year.

Emma found this little dish at a thrift store in Chicago.
When she sent me the picture of it,
I said, "For me?"  (In true Cindy style)

And the next time we were together...she gave it to me.

I love it.

There is something about Dutch things....
One time, a very long time ago, we looked at a cute cape cod house on State Street in
Marinette Wi. We walked in the house and the stairs went straight up.
The hallway had the most enchanting wallpaper I had ever seen.

It was black with dutch people and designs on it.  I loved it and have looked for something like that on vintage wallpaper sites for years.  But alas, it can only be found in my memory.

Wallpaper is making a come back.

I'd like some toile wallpaper.  It would make me think of Susie.
Sad and happy thoughts.

The "wallpaper" on my phone is wallpaper.

Beautiful, no?

Happy Tuesday!
Thank you for stopping by!
Love
Donna

  1. BTW. Easy Chef makes Cherry Crumble.
    I can cherry pie filling,
butter, brown sugar and oatmeal mixed together for the topping.
    cook until it is warm.
It's so yummy. You can serve it on ice cream. It's good that way.

Pyrex is the best. My clear glass Pyrex mixing bowls are my favorite. And I love the graduated sets of bowls from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. So nostalgic and they make me think of my grandmas and mom. And I LOVE your "wallpaper" wallpaper. Beautiful. Most of the rooms in our house are painted but both bathrooms have different toile wallpapers. So Country French and peaceful.

I too enjoy using pyrex. We received a stacking set for a wedding gift year ago and they are still put to good use in our kitchen. What a nice gift to receive from Emma! Years ago businesses would give away old wallpaper sample books and we would get them to use in our classrooms with students. We don't have wallpaper now, but long ago in a place far, far away....we put up wallpaper in a downstairs bathroom that our son's used that had blueprints of the Star Wars space ships and planes. They really liked it! Pretty wallpaper here today and yum, what a delicious recipe. love and prayers, jep

  8. My mama has that dish and a pink one!! She's had them for 52 years, but she hasn't used them much in recent years. Seeing your photo took me right back to my childhood.

I have wallpaper under the yellow paint in my kitchen. As much as I love wallpaper I hate stripping it off walls. (It's 80's geese on a dark blue background, by the way. ;))

  13. I would like a "like" button. I have nothing in particular to say except that your thoughts, words, pictures make me smile. Have a great day, Donna Elsie. :) Oh, and I think I have that same pyrex bowl, from a thrift store while visiting my Aunt Helen in DesMoines. Fun memories.
