Throw back post. April 2009.

How I love these dishtowels.
I love that someone took the time to make them and I wonder if they noticed what a hard time the
young dutch girl was having with her home making.
I wonder if that is why she chose this pattern, because she too had a hard time with home making.

Oh no! The pot is boiling over.

Oh! my!

Ironing can be so steamy!

Dear me!

She must have forgotten her list or her money or her way.

Seems for this little homemaker, peril awaits her on every day of the week.

Except Sunday.

Bless her hard working heart!

I collect tea towels, it's one of my weaknesses !

Those are precious tea towels. Bless her heart, your little Dutch girl knows that Sunday is her day of rest. Digging through an old cedar chest a few weeks ago, I unearthed some of my mother's hand embroidered tea towels and a pair of wee little mice baby booties. Always fun to find treasures. love and prayers, jep

  6. Lovely, lovely post. I love the images that inspired you, I stepped into a bucketful of wonderful memories. Funny how the perilous days made me smile just as much as the day of rest. Thank you for sharing!

  7. Yes, bless her heart. So cute. Those type patterns are back and I do love them. I bought some and must try my hand at them.

  8. Love them! Good ol' Fleet Farm still has iron on transfers and flour sack white towels for sale. I stitched up a towel for a new bride this past winter (figured her mom had some so she wouldn't wonder about such an odd gift for a modern bride!).

    Blessings,
