Volleyball jones.

So sleepy.
Is anyone else sleepy?

Katie had a big volleyball tournament on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Getting up and going was not too bad.  But by the end of the day on Sunday I was fading fast.

I went to bed at 8:30...
which was really....
7:30.

And yet, still sleepy.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Exhausted from playing.
Exhausted from cheering.
Katie has been playing back row and right side hitter.  Hitters are Middles are usually the tallest girls.
Her team is only seven players so the girls do it all...it's a little like beach volleyball.
She loves to play.

Look who came to Milwaukee to watch her little sister play volleyball.
It was so nice.
xoxo

This neat place is in Milwaukee.  Inside are many different places to eat.  It's like a food court but it hip.

Katie hurt her thumb.  We went to the doctor's this morning and it is not broken.
We are very happy about that.

I hope you are all doing well.
Anything new happening in your lives?

Encourage one another,
Donna

  1. Oh Donna, now I will be singing 'Basketball Jones' the rest of the day. Yes, I am dragging. Glad Katie's thumb is not broken. Gotta admit I am a little envious that you are still in 'cheer our team' world. Just a little.

So sleepy here...why oh why can't we just have one time and not change twice a year? This is my lament every time the time changes. Sigh! So very happy the thumb is not broken, but boy can that hurt when a thumb or finger gets hit or bruised or whatever. Keeping the thumb in our prayers. Hope her eye is doing better, too. love and prayers, jep

  3. I'm with Anita singing Basketball Jones! So glad Katie's thumb isn't broken and hope it feels well enough to play by her next practice. We were in Milwaukee for Molly's v-ball tournament the weekend before you. Long days of cheering, but favorite sport for sure. I'm looking forward to collegiate club nationals in April. Three straight days of volleyball. :)

  4. Did you know those pot heads, Cheech and Chong, sang Basketball Jones?
Where is Molly's tournament in April?

    1. Did not know that about Cheech and Chong. It sure is a catchy tune! :)

Nationals are in Louisville, KY this year. Over 100 women's college teams and over 100 men's college teams makes for lots of good volleyball.

  5. I'm part of the yawning ones, too, Donna.

But. I just have to say this. I know exactly how old you are. But you look 15-20 years younger than that. Whatever you are doing with your hair, girlfriend, keep it up. GORGEOUS!!

They say kids keep you young. Here's proof!!

  6. Hi Donna. I miss those sport weekends now that our kids are fully grown - although I still sneak into their soccer or fencing tournaments from time to time…. After the end of Downton Abbey, I needed a Maggie Smith fix and went to see the movie "The Lady in the Van." Have you seen it? Maggie is wonderful in it and I thought you might like it too…. How I know this since all I know about you is what I read in your blog is beyond me, but I thought of you none the less….. And yes, I still love reading your blog!
