But this weekend I had a fabulous time visiting friends and family and even doing a lovely photoshoot.
On Friday night I went out to eat with my dear, long time friend Karen. We talked and talked and ate and talked. And we laughed a lot. Which we always do. It was a great night out. We ate at a place called Doolittles. Have you heard of this place? I wonder if it is a chain. Everything was very good!
Then Saturday I took Katie to the mall to spend some of her hard earned dog sitting money!
It really wasn't hard. Katie loved visiting with Nala and Niko four times a day. She didn't have to be she would stay over there for an hour each visit. They live next door and it was a perfect one week job for her. (The only hard part was waking up at 7:00 :o)
Saturday evening I had a photoshoot with Emma's dear friend Karishma and her husband from Chicago. They decided they would prefer a quiet spot with lots of green so earlier in the day Katie and I looked around the area for nice places. We went to Epic first and actually didn't have to go any where else. They loved it there! It was a quiet, beautiful, hot night.
I was so happy they felt comfortable and Karishma had many wonderful ideas for posing. They were to cute together!
It was really a delightful evening...they loved being out in this beautiful location and I think it shows in their happy pictures.
Then....to top it off, Cindy and Pat came to town so we could have lunch with our darling nephew and 'niece', Wesley and Stephanie, who just moved to town! (Sister Sue's son)
Wesley is the clarinet professor at the University of Wisconsin. We are so proud of them. Stephanie was able to keep her amazing job and will work from home. They live just one town over from us and we are so excited they are in the area now!
We hung out at the Memorial Union and Cindy made Wes and Stephanie sit in the big orange chair....
because that is what Cindy does!!!
What a great weekend! So thrilled to be with family and take pretty pictures and eat yummy food with a wonderful friend.
And boy was it hot.
:o)
Encourage one another,
Donna
I love the Doolittles in Fargo, ND; great place for a date night with my hubby! Unfortunately, we live 75 miles from Fargo. According to the website (doolittles.com), there are 5 Doolittles locations: Madison, WI; Alexandria, MN; Eagan, MN; Golden Valley, MN & Fargo.

What a really GREAT weekend for you! It is always such a treat to see your photoshoot pictures and what a lovely young couple. They do look so happy...makes me smile, too. That orange chair holding dear family members is terrific..looking at it I can almost hear the laughter and certainly see the love. You made my day, thanks! love and prayers, jep
ReplyDeletehappy happy happy NOT by yourself (name that song) : )
ReplyDeleteLoved those pictures, and my favorite is the one in front of the corn...and the sunset one. Is there anything better than happy young couples?! Stay cool I hear the heat will be there for a few more days!
ReplyDeleteDonna...Donna....Donna..
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing photographer. WOW. I love the shadowed one. The corn snuggly photo is too cute. SO happy you have a fun nephew moving near you!!! It makes everything more fun.
:) :) :)
I think it's great that she had some posing ideas. That always makes me super nervous.
ReplyDeleteI'm so delighted to hear some family has moved closer!
What an absolutely beautiful couple you got to photograph. My favorites are the dancing one and the sunset. Just breathtaking. I'm so glad you are having lots of summer fun. Isn't this time of year just the best? Our son got married this weekend in a beautiful spot outdoors with a lovely bride and wonderful ceremony. What a gift to be able to celebrate the joys in life.

What a beautiful couple...their smiles radiate with happiness. And you, dear Donna, are an amazing photographer. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt is H-O-T here. Just had the A/C fixed so I think I can be a nice person tonight. Last night, day two of the A/C on the fritz, was drippy, grumpy mommy night. Ugh.
When does school start for Katie? Bren has been back for a week now. Isn't that so silly? What is the doggone hurry?
Cindy, I'll be in Wausau in September. Can I meet you???????
Hugs to all in the QLCS!!

It was a wonderful night full of laughter, good food and fun convo. I can't thank you enough for NOT taking a picture of me and posting it here..............LOVE YOU. K.F.
ReplyDeleteLovely post! Lovely pics. So happy for you to have your nephew and niece nearby. What a cool job (clarinet professor!). I sometimes wish I had taken music more seriously as teaching music sounds like such a wonderful way to spend one's life. (Some of my classmates in orchestra and choir DID go on to become music teachers.)
