Edith and Bertie. Such a perfect match. Now come on Edith. Tell the truth.
Sunday's episode was so well done. The cinematography was first class. The costumes were interesting and a little goofy...especially Henry's goggles and racing hat. eek.
Tom had the best advice for Mary.
Tom: You're frightened of being hurt again. But let me tell you this: You will be hurt again, and so will I, because being hurt is part of being alive. But that is no reason to give up on the man who is right for you.
Isobel and Violet are BBFs.
How I love their honest and true friendship. They give one another support and wise advice.
I don't think I have ever like the two of them more.

Mrs Hughes' trick on Carson was perfect. He is a good actor. I believed that he was indeed struggling with the cooking and bottle washing.

That puppies name...ugg.

Barrows.
Why can't he have Mosely's job and that young man who wants to be a farmer?
He could do both of their jobs.
Carson is not my favorite this season.
What else?
I'm forgetting since I watched the show in pieces today.
What were your favorite parts of season six episode seven?
Encourage one another,
Donna
I want Edith to be honest, too. She needs to tell her sister and her boyfriend who Marigold really is. But I loved the scene with her relaxing against him on the sofa. So happy for her. And did I ever laugh at Carson trying to cook dinner. Mrs. Hughes and Mrs. Patmore had the perfect scheme. Maybe he will be nicer now. I just wish I was seeing some affection between he and Mrs. Hughes. They don't exactly seem like newlyweds. I was expecting more tenderness between them. Am I ever going to miss this show when it is over.
ReplyDeleteDebbie Z.
Carson falling in to his crumblr cracked me up. He had it coming, for sure :-)
DeleteFalling *asleep* into his crumble :-) I should not type before coffee - early in the a.m.over here!
DeleteMy favorite part was Robert's face when he saw the puppy. I've watched that so many times!
ReplyDeleteThe accident was awful and everyone's fear so realistic.
I, too, love Isobel and Violet's friendship.
Mr. Molesly made me cry. I'm so happy for him!!
I love Molesley getting the good news from the headmaster, and standing a bit taller and squaring his shoulders when the man told him he should be proud of his achievement. I thought it a lovely moment.
ReplyDeleteAnd Daisy hearing Mrs P tell her of Mr Mason's fatherly love that will always be there for her, as well as Mrs Pattmore' s support, too.
Tom speaks from the heart and is a true brother and friend to the family. Granny told Tom her info ... "he's the most sensible" ! My how he's settled beautifully into the family.
I love the clothes. LOVE this show!
Susan, I thought the clothes were particularly lovely in this episode too.

I really don't know how they are going to wrap it all up, but I'm loving the process. I am going to be so sad when it is done.
ReplyDeleteYes, Edith, please tell the truth! Mrs. Hughes, oh yes! I think it was the perfect way to settle Mr. Carson into married life. ;) I think about how far Tom has come and it is perfect that he is giving advice to Mary and the family. Molesley has come a long way, too, and it makes me so happy for him.
Dear Mr. Molesley has found his true calling in teaching. I cried when he told the students that he was "in service" and they all really listened to him. And, we did have a chuckle over Mr. Carson discovering that putting a meal on the table is no small feat. ;-) The lovely dresses and hats this episode had me wishing we could go back to those styles...with the long rope necklaces, too. Just lovely! That puppy was a great for an upbeat moment for them all, good call Granny! I agree...Edith, tell the truth! love and prayers, jep
ReplyDeleteThe fact that Violet just up and left cracks me up. At her age! Good for her. And how incredibly thoughtful she was to leave the beautiful pup. She's amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteI am really going to miss this show. It's the only thing I watch other than Fixer Upper.
I like how they are starting to tie up the story lines. Mr. Mosesley becoming a teacher is an excellent example. His comment about seeing his days as a footman numbered really speaks to the social change happening in the large houses of the day. I wonder what Daisy will do once she aces her exams….
ReplyDeleteI hope Violet is able to return home and that this isn't just a way to send her off never to return. That would break my heart.
I totally understand why Edith hasn't told her sister about Marigold. Her sister has not been very supportive at all in anything Edith does so I would think Edith would want Marigold to be protected from that. And by showing Bertie Marigold sleeping, I think she is preparing him to tell the truth about Marigold anyway - even before his proposal.
I do feel sorry for Barrow. I really think he has changed….. I hope.
I think that Tom has been very good for Mary. For awhile there I thought the two of them would become a couple but I don't think that anymore….
