Hi friends,
I'm working on a opening a photography shop on Society6.
I am figuring it out error by error, step by step.
Yesterday my MyBook was coming up blank. I mean empty.
I mean, all my pictures were gone.
And well. I was slightly paralyzed until I rebooted and unplugged and miraculously got it up and running again.
So I am back at it again this morning.
The school is not calling so I am trying to figure other ways to use my time and earn a living.
Some of my favorite illustrators and photographers use Society6 so I thought I would give it a try.
Here is the link to my page....I am just getting it started and some I have uploaded are not showing up yet. But, of course, I do not know what I am doing so don't expect too much!
Let me know what pictures you think I should include.
Some of the pictures I have are too small to make bigger items.
But look around and see the different items they offer...and tell me what kind of items you would ever be tempted to buy.
I like the coffee cup and tote bag and I have seen some phone covers made that are really cute.
Can you imagine they sell shower curtains and throws! Yikes. A little strange.
Let's see if this works....
okay...the special linky poo didn't work....
So here is the old fashioned link.

Alrighty then...
Let me know what you think.
Thanks!
Love
Donna
Have you ever looked into being a contributor to Minted? All their art is independent artists' created. Probably not a way to earn a full living but perhaps some nice checks if your art sells? Also, I heard from woman earlier this week that does stock photography for Stocksy. She does it on the side but says that there are folks making a pretty good living from it. Just another few options to consider! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I thought you had to be invited to be on minted.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Minted has a few open challenges right now and a general call for new artists. Might be worth a look! It seems like your photography would make such lovely art prints in a marketplace setting.
DeleteWhat a great idea! I love your header and the VW. I'll bet your heart stopped when your photos weren't there. Mine would have.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought about Minted (from Unknown above). I've purchased art from there before. I'll bet you would do well with anything like that.
Note cards! I would definitely purchase note cards with your photos!
ReplyDeletedo they have coasters?
ReplyDeleteI think I saw coasters
ReplyDeleteI agree with jodie, note cards and postcards would be great. I like to send postcards to my friends in Assisted Living. That photo you sent to me of your church or maybe it was the chapel at Katie's former school would be a good seller I think. love and prayers for lots of sells, jep
ReplyDeleteUgh! "sales"
Deletejep
Donna, you have to add your beach photo- the one with the lifeguard chair. That is one of my favorites. Just spectacular.
ReplyDeleteDebbie Z.
Oh yes! I put those up before I activated... They didn't switch over! Thank you for reminding me!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is very exciting!! I too LOVE the beach photos!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about this! I love, love, love the flower picture you took in Paris and was thrilled to see it offered. I hope this is a very successful business for you!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Donna. I love the notecards idea. Also, cell phone case! I just got Emily a cell phone case off of FineArt.com. It was a photo someone took of Blanchard Hall at Wheaton. She gets many compliments :).
ReplyDeleteSorry not to post Downton abbey today. I worked today. It was an amazingly good episode. Tomorrow morning for sure.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos! I think the jellyfish would make a great shower curtain!
ReplyDeleteI love the last boat photos
ReplyDeleteI love this! I've always wanted to buy your pictures. There is one in particular - a snowy tree that looks like it's sparkling? I'd love to have that one on my wall :)
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, I've wondered if you're still doing photo shoots for seniors, families, etc. And you used to have photo seminars for women. It always intrigued me to see a woman closer to my age working as a photographer .... so just wondering if you're still doing it.
