Tony Red Carpet

My favorite award show of all is the Tonys.
I love getting to see the nominated shows!

I will never be able to see the Pulitzer Prize winning Hamilton in real life.
But watching the Tonys I get to see nice long segments of the play....live.

There is lots of singing and dancing...from all the nominated plays....and from the host.

It's so fun and entertaining.

I was not home for the red carpet but thought I'd take a peek on the internet to see if anything was pretty...and I found lots of lovely dresses to share...

so here we go....

James Corden and his pretty wife.

Anna Wintour.  Vouge editor.
Flowers must be in :o)
Most of my favorite dresses were flowery.
But that's not really new.  I like femmy.

Aren't those nice!?

The final three are my favorites!

Which dress do you love the most?
(sorry I don't have designer's names or actors names....im slacking.)

  1. It's my favorite too! I never miss it! So glad you found these because I did not get to see the red carpet! Wasnt it such an awesome show in the face of such horrific events. I love Lin Manuel's beautiful wife's dress!

  3. I think I like Anna Wintour's the most of those you posted. That bright blue/purple skirt is AMAZING (what a fantastic color!) so that is a close second. I am not crazy about that first dress, but her feet are beautiful! (That looks really weird typed out, but it was just a sweet comment in my mind (-:)

    Love these red carpet posts!

  4. Unrelated to all the pretty dresses, but I was just wondering if you are still discussing the book, The Summer Before the War? I must have missed where that discussion is taking place. Thanks! :-)

    1. Hi Kim, I'm sorry but I got side tracked! Let's say next Monday we will cover section two. I'll be done with that part for sure by that day! Then we will cover section three in a week or two after that. Again. I'm sorry.

I love the blue skirt/white top combo! And the flowers with the black trim at the straps. But, you know what I really loved -- the roses wall in the background! I bet that smelled AMAZING!!! :)

  6. I love the 5th one on the girl with Leslie Odom, Jr, who won Best Lead Actor in a Musical...and it's not flowery, although I love the flowery ones. She is so striking in that dress.

I loved the carpool karaoke with James, Lin-Manuel and the others! One More Day at the end? Fabulous! And Gloria Estefan performing with "Get on Your Feet!" cast took me straight back to the 80's.
Does your town not host the traveling Broadway plays? We get them at two different cities in SC. That's how I saw Wicked, Les Mis and Carmen. Even though they aren't the original casts they are very good. It might be years later, but they usually come to town. I want to see Riverdance, Dirty Dancing, Newsies and Cinderella this year. I'll have to choose though because the seats are pricey.

  7. I love the one with the white top and blue bottom the best! It is beautiful but I'm a solids over print type person now that I think about it :)

I like Anna Wintour's dress best. Imagine how it would feel to wear something that beautiful and flowing (are those cherries on the fabric?). I love the last dress too- it is lovely but I would never feel comfortable in strapless.

  9. It's was a good show. We enjoyed the musical numbers and seeing them "live!" Lin-Manuel's wife's dress was my favorite. We only live about an hour from NYC, but we rarely go there. It takes about 1 1/2-2 hours to get to your destination because of traffic. We would love to see Hamilton on Broadway, but ticket prices have gone up to over $800 and are almost impossible to get anyways!

  10. These are all so beautiful and I love floral BUT my fav is the white top/blue bottom. Gorgeous!!

I watched for a few minutes last night and it seemed like a great show. Class act. James Cordon is fun.

  11. I loved several of these dresses - Anna's, the gorgeous blue skirt (I tried to find out who that was, but Google image search didn't help!) but the one I love most is Lupita's. She's consistently been wearing my favorites. Too bad that if I wore what she wears, it would look NOTHING like what it does on her! ;-)

These dresses are gorgeous! I especially love the prints and florals, but really would love to wear any one of these!

  13. Fun and flirty dresses! Beautiful. Giggling at Di's comment about the pretty feet. I had the same thought. :)
