Today on the way to school Katie filled me in on their fun day in science class.
Yesterday they shot off their rockets. Yup. All the children made rockets.
Some went very far, some only went a little way.
Then she told me they made chalk last week.
Chalk. Really? Did it work?
How did you make that?
Katie said, " We mixed two things together..."
Long pause as she tries to remember what they used.
Ummm.
So I thought I'd help her remember.
"Did you use CARBON?"
"No."
"Did you use Hydrogen?"
"No."
"Did you use...."
"Oxygen....NO."
"I know. Uranium!"
"NOOOOO!"
"PLUTONIUM! Right???"
bwahahahaha
"No. It was.....of Paris....something."
"OH!", I say, "Plaster of Paris."
"YES! That's it."
"We mixed the Plaster of Paris with something else...."
"MAGNESIUM?"
"Oh mom."
Just after we finished this conversation, I said, this is going on the blog.

ReplyDeleteOh, this is adorable!
ReplyDeleteFor some reason this reminds me of something a co-worker once said. She said her grandfather was having a procedure to help his heart - angioplastique! Yikes!!!
ReplyDelete"oh mom".....the ultimate comment on a mother's awesomeness ;)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

I love that you guys laugh. Michaela (my oldest) still laughs at my silly. That makes me so happy. :)
ReplyDeleteMy kids were watching Dinosaur Train just now and one of the little pteranodons said,"Oh mom." It made me giggle. Kids...they've been "oh mom"-ing for a long, long time. ;)
ReplyDeleteI like her school. I love hands on and interactive. I visited my friend Marsha at her school yesterday to take some pictures of her students for her. She is an interactive teacher. Every day the students get ten minutes of flash light time to read or do flash cards. Isn't that fun? I mean, of course they don't need a flashlight, but they love using their flashlight for those ten minutes. It makes reading seem exciting. I love that.
