Even tho you know it's coming for nine months....
when babies come
it's always thrilling!
Off to see his little brother for the first time.
First look!
Beautiful boy.
8 lbs 13 oz.
21 1/2 inches long
May 3, 2013
Malachi Raymond Boucher
While Melinda recovers a little,
Matthew holds his second boy.
Asher and Malachi are almost exactly the age difference as Patrick and Matthew.
(four days off.)
Asher is fond of kissing...but not holding yet.
Is that a smile I see....
new baby dreams...
Malachi loves to suck and has taken to breastfeeding very well.
I think he is hungry again....
or it is just too cold to be outside
or his diaper is wet
oh my....
so begins the difficult, wondrous, first few months with an infant.
And a two year old.
How we do it?
With love and grace and hope and
very little sleep.
But we do it.
And it's so worth it.
Welcome sweet little baby.
I love you already.
The happiest days are when babies are born.
Love Donna
oh, oh, oh....

So sweet! Congratulations! There is nothing quite as special as a newborn!
ReplyDeleteI just walked in the door. So happy to see these glorious photos. Great to have you back, but of course you were doing the very important job of being Yaya to TWO grandsons :-)
ReplyDeleteMelinda, Matthew, Asher and Malachi all look wonderful.
Love is all over these photos, it's own special "focus". thanks for sharing.
I'm a lurker too...but this was just too beautiful not to comment on. Congratulations to your whole family! What precious boys. Mine are 28 months apart...the "baby" is 18 years old and getting ready to graduate. How does time go so fast? This post brought me back 18 years in a flash...and made me teary. What a gift you've given them with your beautiful photographs...you are a blessing. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBack to lurking,
Pat
Two beautiful, healthy grandsons. It doesn't get much better. Thank you for sharing your family.
ReplyDeleteMelinda and Matthew do know how to have beautiful boys...wow it is like seeing Asher as a baby again. What fun those two brothers will have together. I can already hear the laughter and whoops of joy. I agree, those are beautiful photographs. Their Yaya is the best around. Thank you so much for sharing. We have had you all in our prayers. love and prayers, jep
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Those photos are precious. What happy, happy times! All I can think of right now is that newborn smell and their velvety skin. And their little squeaks and faces. Oh dear...help me.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're back! I was having Miz Boo withdrawals. LOL
Sarah P. from Iowa
Sarah, I was in withdrawal too :-)
DeleteOh yes, baby smells and soft skin is the best!
Not having Facebook or twitter, I was in withdrawal big time. So nice, so very beyond wonderful to see that everyone is doing well and that our Miz Boo is safely back home to tend to her "comment flock." I always said our sons smelled like little boy heaven, so fresh from God, such blessed miracles. jep

I am glad to see that I wasn't the only one having withdrawl! Glad you are back, Donna!
DeleteAmen. Beautiful baby boy and his big brother. I have two granddaughters. I love the bonding between siblings immediately after birth. Such a sweet, sweet time. Thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteYaya does such a wonderful job with pictures. Nana, well she gets lots of pictures but not many of them are frameable!!! So glad Asher had time to get to know Yaya more. These pictures are beautiful!!!! -- Nana
ReplyDeleteNothing makes a two year old look like a near-collegian than bringing home a new baby!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family. As ever.

ReplyDeleteSweet precious beautiful family! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteIs that red hair I spy?! Wouldn't that be a wonderful trait to pass down to another generation!
ReplyDeleteThere is absolutely nothing like a brand new, fresh from the oven baby. You can still smell heaven in their neck folds.
Congratulations to Melinda, Matthew, Yaya, and the whole Boucher clan!!
That last picture of Melinda and Malachi takes my breath away. Yes, nothing like a new baby.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos telling a beautiful story. Thanks so much for sharing! It's special that A & M are the same distance apart as P & M.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to all!!
Mary Z
What a sweetheart...congratulations! I saw your video of Asher on Vine a couple days ago so knew Malachi had come into the world.
ReplyDeleteNewborns are the most beautiful thing on earth. Photos of them, or holding a newborn, always makes me teary. I agree with Heidi R., that last photo of Melissa and Malachi is just beyond words. Congratulations, Donna. Your grandchildren(and children)are beautiful. Blessings on your expanding family.
ReplyDeleteDebbie Z.
I too have to say congratulations! Such a beautiful family and the pictures are amazing! Oh to have images like that from when my guys were little.
ReplyDeleteKim L.
"The happiest days are when babies are born." OH! this made me cry. Truth. How blessed you all are!
ReplyDeleteDonna, you have such a talent for writing..........Matthew should be so proud of the life he's made with Melinda and such beautiful children. The pictures are precious. Seems to me I remember that same infant smile on Ashers face when he was born, you caught it perfectly. Love to all, Karen F.
ReplyDeleteSo many thoughts...
ReplyDelete* Beautiful Malachi!
* Big brother does suddenly look SO big. I remember thinking Madelaine was so big when Zack was born...she was 13 months old!
* Great hair, Melinda! You look beautiful.
* The picture of Asher kissing Malachi? Perfect.
* Matthew looks like he was made to hold babies! Such confidence. Such a good daddy!
I was just reading in Brennan's baby book of the day that Claire dropped him on his head. She sobbed and told us she was scared because when she dropped Abigail Molly (her baby doll), Abigail Molly's head came off. She was afraid to look and see if Bren's head had fallen off. All of that to say, Asher is probably wise to keep kissing until he is ready to hold his baby brother (-:
And having Miz Booshay as the family photographer? What a gift!
Congratulations to all of you, and welcome home, Donna.
Love,
Di
Oh my, bet that was an exciting day at your house with Claire and dropped baby brother. We are keeping Claire in our prayers for her driving test. jep
DeleteJep...she PASSED. Now could you pray for her as she drives. It is enough to keep a mama on her knees!
DeleteDi
Yes, we will put Claire on our list along with other young folks we pray for daily. Been there on the knees and still am with our one son living in the snowy north driving many miles to work and the other one big city driving. jep
DeleteCongrats to you all! He's beautiful!
ReplyDeletecongratulations! So happy for you!

He IS absolutely beautiful. Love the name, too. Congratulations. Don't know about you, but I found being a grandma the second time around even lovelier than the first because you know how wonderful the blessing is.
ReplyDeleteOH Donna
ReplyDeleteSUch joyful news. Welcome baby boy Malachi. I LOVE their name choices.
I was sooo tired after having Zach 3 weeks early and working the shift when my bag broke.
it was wonderful to deliver among friends. Was Melinda among her L and D friends/?????
Make them lots of meatloaf dinners and your awesome cooking will help so much when you cannot be there.
At least its spring and they can all get out soon.
