I know so many people have deserted Idol for the Voice.
But after watching this weeks Voice and Idol.
Idol wins this year for the best voices.

ReplyDeleteI'm one of those who've dumped Idol to go with the Voice. I just can't handle Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. {{{shudder}}} But, Harry Connick, Jr...love him!
And this woman has a LOVELY voice!
PS -- You can't go wrong with Billie Holliday or Ella Fitzgerald. They are two of my vocal idols. Sometimes I think I'm a singer in the wrong era.
DeleteI did the same thing. I couldn't handle the two women. But since Candice is a fellow South Carolinian I've had to watch her each week usually on Hulu. I'll have to watch the finals if she's in it. I love listening to her voice.
DeleteI had to catch up a bit on youtube, since I can't watch Idol for reals over here. Time well spent: these ladies are amazing, but I agree that Candice is in a league of her own. I honestly enjoy all of them, but she's my fav.
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE Harry Connick Jr. He's so real, and what he said to them made sense. Case in point: helping Amber understand what the lyrics might mean on Funny Valentine.
Yes. He was a little hard on her....but he is a dad and a musician and I could see those qualities in the way he was mentoring. What you did not see...the judges disagreed with Harry!!!
ReplyDeletesay what? I was thinking as I was typing my comment, "why isn't Harry a judge?" The bits I saw on the clips were spot on, or it seemed so to me. I'm guessing these talented gals ate up what he had to share with them.

We jumped ship to the Voice a few years ago and it's one of the only shows we enjoy watching as a family. Greg mentioned just the other night that he doesn't think the talent this season is as strong as it has been, but it seems some of the vocalists really learn and grow thoughout the season, so we'll have to see what happens...

I really was hoping Kree would knock it outta the park this week. I would have loved to hear her do "At Last." Candice is amazing and I <3 Harry! Sometimes Nikki has great critiques and other times, she's so out there. After Mariah speaks I'm usually thinking, "What?!" I think the producers hands are much to obvious this season, casting for a female winner and the crazy push for Amber.
ReplyDeleteI have never been able to fully get into the Voice. I love the chemistry between judges over there but, there is something I don't like, I can't quite put my finger on it. I usually love the first round, then the following rounds are just, meh.
Idol wins over the Voice for me every season.
