along the way...we love...

Thinking of @popsonsarah Wish we could stop! #whatcheeriowa

We love What Cheer, Iowa.  Well.  Not even the town really...we love the sign on HWY 80 that point one to What Cheer, Iowa.  We drove thru What Cheer one time on the way to Columbia Mo.  It's little with only one or two brick buildings.  It's name, however, gives everyone in our family a big thrill.
We are dorks like that.

Big things are interesting. #windmillblade

Wind mill blade.  BIG and COOL.

Werner park.

We went to a baseball game.  The Storm Chasers.  I really like this ball park.  We saw some baseball and fireworks.

Fun times

Asher was worried about the fireworks...but he did just fine.

Malachi One.

Before the birthday party we went to watch Asher play soccer.  "Let's start at the very beginning..."
It was cute.  Asher scored a goal. Wrong goal.  But that's just a technicality.

People of the North are blinded by the sun.

Katie and Malachi

It's all about the hugs an kisses and love.

Encourage one another,

  1. Donna, I love your eyes in the top picture. They twinkle. There is a town in Oregon called Sweet Home. I've always wanted an address that included Sweet Home, OR. Then someone told me there is a pulp mill there...and pulp mills have a wretched odor. I wish you could Google odors and see how stinky it is.

Yay for goals scored and hugs given and love abounding.

There is a Cargill plant around 10 miles east of my house. It stinks. Yesterday I left the kitchen window open and when we came home last night our house smelled like a huge fart. So bad! : P My husband walked in the door when he got home and said "Whoa!" It wasn't me. ha ha ha

    3. Oh, Sarah. ha ha, indeed! We got in trouble, recently, for our grandparenting. (Not really, but my son had a little fun with us.) I guess our grandson, ahem, flatulated, and then quoted his esteemed ancestor: "Papa says farts are funny."

  2. Sweet Home has a stinky mill? Oh, that is disappointing. We could have been neighbors there!

I have friends in Boring, OR and Cool, CA. Mail going back and forth must make the post office laugh (-:

BEAUTIFUL pictures. Melinda, that is a great color on you.

    Love,

Wrong goal....that made me laugh! I can't believe they have soccer for kids that young. They start 'em young in Omaha! Aunt Katie looks like she had a great time :).

What Cheer, I so want to know the story of how it got that name.
When we travel we write down unusual and interesting to us names. Came across a place named Looneyville named in honor of the pioneer family named Looney and it is located near Loco/Crazy Creek. Another town we wrote down, Blessing...which the town really wanted to call Thank God, but the railway officials favored Blessing. I think living in Thank God would be neat.
We see those big blades going down the highway west of here, they are huge.
Beautiful family photos, all those handsome Boucher guys and gorgeous gals.
What Cheer, What Fun....love and prayers, jep

  6. This post is sooooo funny. What got into you? Yes we are blinded by the sun. And allergies. We went to the Chicago botanic gardens (have you ever..they are glorious!) today and my one eye was literally running with tears the whole time. Between that and the sun I squinted and teared up the whole time. But not one sneeze….odd
