This is my ideal school setting.
But in reality....
The local high school experience has been fantastic so far.
Katie is doing so well in her new school and classes.
She likes French class.
And she likes MATH!
She was well prepared by her little parochial school for the rigor of high school.
She was not encouraged very much...and left feeling kind of dumb, etc.
Doing extremely well at high school is a wonderful thing for her confidence!
I'm so proud and thankful.
So when it comes to our choices we make for our children and ourselves...
I mean it.
Encourage one another,
Donna
Awww. I love that she likes high school and I love our quote. I hope we all make it, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat great news. So glad that Katie likes high school. Now that volleyball is over, is she going out for any other activities?
ReplyDeleteBasketball season is upon us...try outs next week. Exciting times in our new high school experience. It's all positive at our house, too.
And "She likes math" is an amazing statement. Hallelujah!
Love,
DI
So does sending them to school assure they will like math? And what about English? Will they like that subject, too? (why do my kids LOVE to read but hate their high school English and composition stuff?!?!)
ReplyDeleteCurious minds obviously want to know......
Blessings,
Tammy ~@~
P.S. I'm delighted to hear that it's been a wonderfully delightful transition for Katie! :-)
I am a product of 12 years of parochial schools and my education was wonderful ... their standards are difficult to beat. However, that was in the 60's and I realize in hindsight that they did NOT stress individuality nor foster independence. I am VERY thankful for the education I had and my parents worked hard to provide but I wish I'd been taught to "color outside the lines" long before I had to teach myself. Linda
ReplyDeleteGood for Katie! It's always such a blessing to know our children are doing well.
ReplyDeleteWise words!
ReplyDeleteDelightful news, way to go Katie!
ReplyDeleteI wish it were pie and would like a slice please.
Yes, let's all make it together. I have not ever been happy trying to one-up anyone, so I don't do it. That is a great quote...headed to get my quote journal for it.
love and prayers, jep
I'm so glad to read this. Yay Katie!
ReplyDeleteP.S. now I want pie. Real bad. :-)
HOORAY for Katie. Remember when Mattell got into big trouble because they had a new Barbie who said, "MATH IS HARD!"
ReplyDeleteIm horrible at math. I do understand your pie chart. Miss Pie s birthday is unknown so we celebrate it on 3.14 for Pi day 3.14159
Dear Donna, I'm really happy for Katie if she likes french class !! :)
