This and That.

Fanta love.

Last night Katie and I dashed from costume making after school to baseball practice at 6:00.
We stopped at Pizza Bruta for a very quick dinner.
And a pop.
Fanta Orange.
Her fave.

Fairy Merryperry

This is the costume the amazing ladies made for Katie.  (Thank you Francie)
Katie is the fairy godmother in this version of Cinderella. She is called Fairy Merryperry.
She sings a song with Cinderella.  I hear it's going very well.
I made costumes for two horses yesterday.

Good morning Ice.

This makes me smile.

  1. Little bits of this and that are so nice. The video is a keeper - sure to bring a smile. Too bad we can't bottle that energy in a bottle. I could use some today -- gotta get moving again and finish up the laundry. It's a quiet day here. Maybe an espresso will help my motivation!

    bye ~

Oh, I have a special love for the fairy godmother in Cinderella because of this:

    4. Thank you! Such fun memories when I see those pictures. The dance studio Rebekah danced with is putting on Cinderella again this year. My friend's daughter is the fairy godmother this year. And we're taking Rebekah's daughter, Nora, to see it because after watching the DVD this 2 1/2 year old thinks her mommy is a real fairy godmother. ;)

  5. I know the crummy winter is depressing, but that icy picture with the red background is gorgeous!!

Fairy Merryperry...great name. Does Katie like to sing? Claire loves to act and really hates singing. Not a good combo.

Making costumes for horses pretty much sums up NIGHTMARE for me.

Prayer request: Claire goes for her driver's license test today! She's ready and excited.

    1. Di, I agree --

Horse costume = disaster in the making, as far as I'm concerned

Lord, bless Claire and help her to remain calm.

God please send Claire Your peace and grace. Help her to remember her training and make good decisions. Amen.

This new Google thing is driving us nuts around here. And, I kinda knew my way around the old mail system. UGH!

    3. Di,
Did she pass? Take a deep breath-#4 is launched behind the wheel!

Agree about disaster and costume making. One year when Eleanor was in this snooty dance group, we had costume-making night--required for all mothers. Guess whose costume looked horrible? Thank goodness I had a friend who makes costumes for a living. She saved me. I haven't touched a sewing machine since.

Late to the party, but sending up prayers for Claire anyway; hope it went well.

I only use Google for the feed reader and that has been axed effective July 1. Sounds like they're "adjusting" all sorts of things. I'm test driving Feedly right now in hopes they'll get their own subscription service together before Reader bites the dust.

    5. Sweet Claire did NOT pass, much to her horror. She can try again in two weeks.

And she had to have dental work today. I think she will declare this one of those "horrible, no good, very bad" days.

      Thanks for the prayers.

There are those kind of days that is for sure. Tell Claire that Ralph Waldo Emerson said:

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it well and serenely.

And, let her know that she will be in our prayers. Ugh, dental work today, too.
      love and prayers, jep

    8. Emma did not pass the first time. Everyone on the blog knew. Ugh
      Next time Claire!

    9. My firstborn son — for whom everything went swimmingly — did not pass the first time. He left camp to go to town and get it and came back empty handed.

There is a membership of not passers. But this, too, shall pass.

I hope she is feeling better from her dental work.

      Hugs to Claire!

    10. "this too shall pass" ;-) You are punny Carol !

She will be all the better driver for it. But I'm sorry she didn't pass the first time. Rough Day.

But better days ahead, for sure

      bless her heart

    11. In the same punny way, John took the Gandalf road and declared, "You shall not pass." This humor was totally lost on Claire (-:

What sweet pictures of Katie to open your blog, first having a good meal and then in her Merryperry Fairy dress. And, I am with Di on that ice picture...wow. That would look great in a frame on a wall..that just right pop of color the designers are always talking about. Katie's dance indicates youth in action and I can just imagine a former cheerleader doing those moves. ;-) love and prayers and thanksgiving for beauty and laughter here today. jep

Orange pop was once a fav of mine, too. I love the video, Miss Fairy Merryperry and Miz Boo! You put a smile on my face. :)

I agree, I think the ice picture is frameable.

    Get yo groove on!!

  10. Missy. It was taken with my iphone. I actually don't like it. That red is too red for me. BUT I could not make bokeh with this camera phone and really really wished I had my big girl camera with me this morning.

    1. I beg to differ - I LOVE the color of the house. It's dee-lish.

Looking a 2nd time at the first photo, I'm remembering that while pregnant I CRAVED Sunkist Orange Soda. Normally I don't like soda at ALL. Although recently I had an Orangina and it was pretty tasty.

    2. Oh! I like the red! It would be interesting (to me) to compare a bokeh version to this version, but I like the contrast of detail between the wall and the iced branch in this version. Great shot with an iPhone! Thanks, Missy

    3. Begging to differ here, too. That color is so rich. A perfect canvas to show off the icy branches.

I can easily see it being put on a living room or dining room wall. Hillary Farr move aside, The Donna Boucher has the best fashion and creative design eye around. I like that photograph a lot. jep

  12. I love her costume. I wish I could come to her performance. I bet those two horses are going to be the stars of the show all because of your designs : )

Orange pop is Kaishon's favorite too. He also loves lime green pop in glass jars. I don't get it too often because it is expensive and I hate using glass if we don't have to. Today at Trader Joe's I got him a container of Orange Peach Mango juice which is his absolute favorite. I can't wait for him to come home from school to get it.

Katie's costume is so pretty; I'll be the horses will look great. Love Katie's energy. I don't remember having *that* much energy all the time as a kid. Love the top photo of Katie. I always felt self-conscious about photos while growing up (who am I kidding, I'm still self-conscious)--I so love that she's comfortable just being who she is (which is lovely, by the way).

I like the red photo but dislike the ice. I'm SO tired of winter weather. Daffodils are just beginning to pop out here, so hopefully this cold spell won't bite them back.
