Whose blog is this anyway?

Yesterday I posted the quote from Max Lucado.
I didn't have a main reason for posting it, I was just looking thru my Pinterest pins from this week and there it was and I thought it was nice.

And then I mentioned the fellow (Doctor, Proof of Heaven) who had that near death experience.

Yesterday, after I posted, Melinda texted me to say her beloved Grandpa was
near death.

And I marveled at how God used my little typing fingers to say something that might be of support to my dear daughter in law.  (Her beloved grandpa Raymond died this morning)

This happens a lot around here.

Many times I am silly and full of entertainment news and frivolous fun...and well then...
be assured... it's me.

But on those times that something touches your heart or lifts your spirit...
that's God taking over the blog.

Cause I am just a girl.
A girl who loves you and
loves God
and
just
keeps
blogging.

With love,
Donna

Praying for the repose of the soul of Grandfather Raymond. How wonderful is the work of God that Grandfather Raymond and Great Grandson Malachi Raymond could meet in passing...one coming from and one going to be with our Lord. Donna, when you are willing to let God work through you as you are then it is not surprising that you have a heavenly co-blogger guiding you. We have seen it before and I for one am so grateful that you and God are here in this special place. Henri J.M. Nouwen said in my devotion for May 17th:

"Hope and faith will both come to an end when we die. But love will remain. Love is eternal. Love comes from God and returns to God. When we die, we will lose everything that life gave us except love. The love with which we lived our lives is the life of God within us. It is the divine, indestructible core of our being. This love not only will remain but will also bear fruit from generation to generation. When we approach death let us say to those we leave behind, 'Don't let your heart be troubled. The love of God that dwells in my heart will come to you and offer you consolation and comfort.'"

Praying for you Melinda and your family that your grandfather's love of God will fill your hearts and help you heal. love and prayers, jep

Donna, I love how your blog is used to bless others - and me!

I think one of the important things is to just be available - to be open. Thanks for the way you let the light shine here in QL. I'm so blessed to have found you all.

  11. Thank you Donna for leading me to that Pinterest board. So many beautiful quotes, verses and prayers on there. I was a pinning fool going through it. You are an inspiration. So sorry about your daughter in law's grandpa. I am a true believer in "nothing is a coincidence". She needed that and you were the vessel for her comfort.

Earlier this month on May 4th in his book Bread for the Journey Henri J.M Nouwen wrote about how others may be our "signposts on the way to God." I like to think that our parents, grandparents, siblings, children and friends are signposts in the journey to God. Certainly Donna, what you write in QL and the commenters here are like signposts for me. I am sorry to say that my life is not consistently a signpost except for the times I move over and let God be in charge. Since May 14th's devotion reading Nouwen has been writing about death. I feel closer to the end of my life by years than to my birth, so his writing really spoke to me. He talks about how we have the opportunity to make our deaths a gift, but the best thing he said was what I wrote on your blog today. (Today he shifted gears and is writing about another topic.) Thanks be to God for any help it may be to you, Melinda and others at QL. This must be one of those God leading days. Glad I was listening to Him. love and prayers, jep
