fallish
"O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away."- Robert Frost, October
Wishing you a lovely fall weekend!
Encourage one another,
Donna

Our fall comes a bit later than yours ... I can hardly wait :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this beautiful poem, photo and quote ... ahhh. A sigh of contentment from over here.
"Make the day seem to us less brief." Oh, I love Robert Frost. And that Gatsby quote? Claire will LOVE it. She and Bren are headed out to a "Gatsby Themed" dance tonight. Such fun!
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love autumn. I am willing to look at the long-term weather forecast because it will make me smile. Hallelujah, no more triple digits!!!!
Happy Saturday,
Di
The leaves are starting to change here in Jersey. We are heading out soon to go apple picking. It is really a beautiful day here and we are feeling blessed to have the windows open and sitting on the deck to eat lunch.
ReplyDeleteHappy fall, Donna!
Oh, what a beautiful poem. Thank you so much. Robert Frost put things so beautifully. He is one of my favorites and I really needed to read his lovely poem this morning.

A big LIKE to everyone here at QLCS and to you Donna. Like Di we are happy to hopefully have the triple digits behind us. Apple picking was a favorite of our family when we lived in SC...enjoy yourselves Robin. And, like Susan and Debbie, I so enjoyed reading the Robert Frost poem. I still remember seeing him reading one of his poems on TV that cold January day that President Kennedy was inaugurated. And, what a beautiful yellow leaves photograph...it just says Autumn to me. Mostly our leaves here just turn brown and fall off. ;-)
ReplyDeletelove and prayers, jep
