My favorite song this week. Pompeii

I have no idea what it is about.

But, gosh, I love how it sounds.

p.s. my music choices are much more fickle than other forms of media.
I usually get so sick of songs because they are over played on the radio...
The songs I hear less remain favorites.

They are not playing this one very much yet.

  1. Currently listening to Bastille's album. I suggest the whole album, Pompeii is good but so are there non-single songs!

  2. I have a house full of late sleepers this morning, or I would comment on the song you've posted. We often have very similar taste, though. I love your "I don't know what this is about" comment. I often offer that warning if I share a poem...you never know what all that symbolism really means (-:

I have become quite the no music on the radio gal...if we are listening to music it is on an ipod. I count on my kids to show me new songs or else they just fly on by. Instead, if I am in charge of the radio it is sports radio all the way. My girls weep, and my boys laugh and my husband brags.

    That tutu!! Such fun.

    Love,
    Di

  3. Fickle people are my favorite : ).
I am listening to it right now.
Tonight is Kaishon's Birthday party. I should be baking a cake. Instead I am calling a bakery : ).
I should be cleaning. Instead I am dancing to this song.
And I use the term dance loosely.
Happy Friday to one of my favorite girls in all the world.
    YOU!

I've never heard this song before. I made a cd to play in my van so that's probably why I haven't heard the song. : ) So fun! Thanks!
I love the last tutu picture. It would make a pretty canvas, I think.

Here's to dancing more in 2014!!

  5. Wish I could figure out why blogspot videos don't show on my iPad - sometimes. Not all the time. Grr. But I know the song and don't mind it. That's high praise for a pop tune from me. ;)

    1. I like the beginning. And it sounds very 80's Dexy's Midnight Runners/Big Country-ish, don't you think??

    2. It reminds me of the Matilda song....Send me on my way by Rusted Root. I think it's the chanting with low voices. And the song On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons.
      All so UP.

  7. I love this song. I have no idea what the video is trying to tell me. I guess this is the way I feel about many music videos though. I am an avid reader, and my favorite classes were always English and literature courses, but I would get so sick of trying to find the symbolism in everything. Sometimes I just enjoy a story, or poem, or song and I don't want to have to try to figure out what the writer was really trying to say. I just like what it says to me.

  8. I like the song ... probably should listen to the entire album. BUT ... what do the "black eyes" mean? I am so out of touch, I guess .....

    1. I think that's a zombie thing.
      Which I know nothing about.
Maybe this song is/was on a show about zombies.

ha. I can't speculate with the best of them.

Bastille is good, my favorite song of theirs is "Flaws".

  10. We love Bastille! As far as I have picked up, the song is about Pompeii, and what it might have been like to be there that day when the ashes covered everything so suddenly...what would they have been thinking? Saying? It's somber and sobering.
    The album is addictive. :)

  12. I love the tutu photos. Such joy. I miss not having a car to listen to music in. Actually, that might be the only thing I miss about not having a car! That and carrying my groceries up my hill! :-) I tend to listen to a lot of instrumental music, or Hillsong of Jesus Culture or Vineyard Worship Music. I am very predictable. Once in awhile I branch out, and it is fun to hear "new" music. thanks for sharing!!
