Yay! Thanks for sharing since I had to miss last night. I had never heard Sweet Disposition when my son played it for me. He and his fiancee are using it as the recessional song for their wedding.
Totally off topic: Any suggestions for a mother/son dance? We're thinking Somewhere Over the Rainbow, but it's an in between, not fast, not slow song.
Thanks Donna, we don't watch prime time TV anymore...and I have missed seeing the dance shows. There are some really talented folks this year.
Southern Gal, I wish I could remember the song my youngest son and I danced to, but I think it was a waltz. This really cute band played at their reception, friends of our son and DIL. Whatever song you dance to, it is the memory of your son dancing with you and being so happy that will stay with you. Good luck finding the right song.
My favorite Over the Rainbow version is the one Israel Kamakawiwo'ole sang. We had that song put on a CD for our first grandchild...one of her friend/aunts asked everyone for their contribution and that was ours. love and prayers, jep
Thanks jep. I'm going to enjoy every second of it. I still can't believe he's getting married next month! That's the version we're thinking of using. We both love it.
Southern Gal, a few months ago we went to our neighbor's son's wedding. My favorite part of the whole thing was the dance between the groom and mom. They danced to a Frank Sinatra song- I can't remember which one but it might have been Young At Heart or Fly Me to the Moon. Mom is on the chunky side and has bad knees but she was out there with the biggest smile on her face and her son even twirled her around at one point in the song. The crowd went crazy and it was just a great part of the celebration. Enjoy every minute of your son's wedding.

DeleteDebbie Z.
Thank you, Debbie. I love Frank Sinatra songs! I'll have to go listen.
DeleteSouthern Gal... Unforgettable by Nat King Cole is a good one. Also, What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.
ReplyDeleteThat clip from DWTS was just the bump I needed to make me watch it again. I mean, it's CARLTON for goodness' sake!! :-)
How did she keep her top from falling down? Oh to look that lovely in that white outfit!
