Edgewood hoco2k14...yeah. that's how they say it.
We had to go out to buy a coat on Saturday. It was so cold and wearing a scarf/shawl was out of the question. Anyway a pea coat is totally classic and can be worn for years.
AND it looked fantastic with Katie's Classic French look.
It's so much fun dressing her up.
It's like Pinterest come to life :o)
This is a re-enactment. I turned around and the corsage was on....
So I made them do it again.
Here they are! Casey is also a freshman. They have been friends for a few years.
I like this picture because I have seen this face before.
I also like because they are posing for someone else.
Same picture. Different crop.
They went to the dance with two other couples.
As you can see...this is just one of the couples.
Katie loved meeting and spending time with the other couples.
No shoes were allowed on the gym floor...so things evened out at the dance.
Height-wise.
I thought this would be funny.
Katie didn't really get it.
It's a little thrilling to be 14.
I'm so thankful for nice, sweet, boys and girls.
They do exist.
XOXO
Donna

I wish I was 14 again. Actually I wish I was 10 again. Katie looks awesome, can't believe there is hand holding going on !!
ReplyDeleteThey were being directed!!
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteEmma, your comment made me snort with laughter. My older ones would have been all over the hand holding, too!
ReplyDeleteAmen for sweet boys and girls. Can I just say I LOVE the amount of fabric in Katie's ensemble? Some of our sweet friends were a little lacking in the coverage, in my not asked for opinion. She looks beyond beautiful. And I love that suspenders and bow ties have made a come back. It's a great dance look.
Our football team won the homecoming game 34-0, so that was fun (-: And on dance night Bren went to the Cal State football game and got a photo op with the dance team. He seemed to feel it gave him some street cred since he didn't go to the dance. Funny boy.
Happy Monday.
Love,
Di
Beautiful pictures!! So very classy -- both Katie and "the boy". :)
ReplyDeleteHope the shower project is underway as home front facelifts are the best!!

Oh, these photos are wonderful! Love the full-length one taken in the grass in front of the trees. Just beautiful. And the boy looks so nice! I was worried that no one would seem nice enough for our dear Katie (I hope you don't mind that so many of your readers care about your kids after seeing all the wonderful photos over the years!). And I love the classic look of the pea coat- it is my very favorite coat style.

DeleteBeautiful! Love the skirt!
ReplyDeleteSo thrilling to see the excitement! Cute, cute couples.
ReplyDeleteMy sister was 4 1/2 years younger than me. I totally understand where Emma's coming from. ;)
Is it me or does he look like John Boy Walton in the last picture??? ADORBS! So happy for Katie to have such a great friend! Karen F.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't noticed that, Karen. He does indeed look like John Boy Walton.
DeleteDebbie Z.
*Love*! Ohhh, am I allowed to say it again?.....I love her tulle skirt! And I love how totally classy Katie looks. I'm totally with Di about the lack in fabric in so many of the dresses for these dances......it makes me cringe.
ReplyDeleteSo glad she enjoyed it all!
Blessings,

P.S. Also loved Emma's comment....hee hee hee.....totally an older sibling kind of thing to say! (and I hear those all the time and just shrug my shoulders.....hee hee hee....)
The pictures are beautiful. They are adorable. I hope they had a great time!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of a lovely young couple. Totally adore Katie's "French" spin on things ... very "her". LOL So wonderful to see freshness in youth and a sort of "innocence". Thanks for sharing with us. Hope they had a GREAT time ... the pictures will be priceless!
ReplyDeleteThe first image and the second to the last are my favorites. They are all great though
ReplyDeleteKatie! Growing up on us! Such a doll
I mean the second image and the second to the last......
ReplyDeleteThey are super adorable, really stunning! Exciting times!
ReplyDeleteThey look so beautiful. I am happy they had a lovely time taking pictures.
ReplyDeleteThese are SO great! You capture their personalities so well -- and I LOVE Katie's look. The skirt, the top, the pearls, the coat, and of course, that gorgeous hair!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE visiting QL - the poetry, the pics, the movie/TV/music reviews. All of it.
