I spotted this card at emilymcdowell.com yesterday.
It cracked me up! My son Patrick hates when people use the word journey so maybe that made me especially like it.
Story is the big buzz word now.
I can see it going the same way as journey.
hah.
Encourage one another,
Donna
I like the word "journey", maybe because it has a ring of adventure to it. Going on a journey is fun :-)
ReplyDelete(But I agree - in regards to illness - not so good)
A journey of giraffes ... I also love that collective noun.
BTW, cute card.
I agree 100% with this card... my sister would not call the last year of breast cancer treatment a journey, unless that journey is to hell and back!
ReplyDeleteBless her. And you. Mean it.
DeleteI didn't mind journey so much. It kind of felt like that because it was such uncharted territory. Adventure sounded like we were going to end up someplace fun. Journey was unknown.
ReplyDelete"Story" is used more and more, I agree. We should try to guess what the next buzzword will be!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Susan will probably guess correctly. :)
Brand is also big,
DeleteYes you are right. Susan!! Yoohoo!
Ooh the pressure!
DeleteI'm going to go out on a limb and say "beachball"
Ha, I kid

ReplyDeleteso glad you can all 'do life' together on this 'journey' through your 'stories'. Our church/denomination is overusing 'missional' and 'intentional' as well, on their 'journey.' :)
ReplyDeleteJourney, story and brand all mean something nice to me, but I am so not in the know about buzz words. My late MIL loved to use the word soiree instead of party. I still hear that word occasionally. When I was in school we thought saying deja vu was the very thing to say...oh and karma...that was popular. What I wonder is when did RSVP start to mean, ignore and come if you want and don't come if it is not to your liking? ;-)
ReplyDeletelove and prayers and I do mean it, jep

ReplyDeleteHi, Donna~
I just watched this story and laughed when I heard story and journey in the same sentence!

Oh the buzz words... I truly can't stand "reach out". Why can't we all just talk anymore? Oh well, I just thought that I would reach out and let you know that I really enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteVickie
I'VE Never been to San Fran but after watching the Wild Parrots movie filmed there....I want to. The hills, the views, the lush foliage.....and I hear they have good yarn shops!
ReplyDeleteI loved this flashback Donna
