Dancing with the Stars started on Monday. The show will only be on one day a week which is very fine with me. I was seriously disappointed with the cast. I didn't know many of the names and I felt it was lacking. But I watched it because that's what I do. I love to watch.
And I enjoyed the cast tremedously.
Snooki and Sasha Farber
Snooki is from a Jersey Shore show which I have only seen snippets of. Snooki was falling down drunk in most snippets I saw. I don't really care to watch her dance but she is now a mom and she says she has changed. But I still don't care. Not my cuppa.
Keyshawn Johnson and Charna Brugess
Keyshawn is a football player. He was probably my least favorite dancer of the night.
Valerie Harper and Tristan McManus
Valerie is from The Mary Tyler Moore show. She was Rhoda. She is exuberant and positive and altogether a lovely woman. She has cancer between her brain and her skull.
It seems to be in remission.
She is actually a very pretty dancer. She is 72 and really dances so much younger. She is full of grace.
Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd
Brant is handsome and he can dance. I have learned he is an actor.
Christina Milian and Mark Ballas
Christina is an entertainer, I guess. She was okay, but I was so confused the whole time because I have never seen or heard of her before. And that's saying something.
Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein
Oh Boy. Bill Nye the Science Guy. He can swing dance and I would like to dance with him. But for the cha cha he was terribly awkward and geeky. He is beloved by the crowd and I hope he stays around. He is an odd ball.
Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy
Elizabeth was on Saved By the Bell. Then she was in a stripper movie. She was fine. I'm not really a fan.
Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff
Corbin was in High School Musical. He is a dancer/actor. He is one of the 'unfair' members of the cast. But what are you gonna do. He may win.
Amber Riley and Derek Hough
Amber is on Glee. So she is in the 'unfair' group too. She is a chubby girl but boy can she move. She's representin' for the big girls.
Bill Engvall and Emma Slater
Bill is a comedian/actor. He is a nice enough guy who has a natural ability to dance. I would have thought he would be a joke. But no. He is graceful and nice to watch.
Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke
Jack is the son of rocker Ozzie Osbourne and Sharon O. He is a little chubby and has MS. I could not have been more surprised! He is a lovely dancer. I was most surprised by him. He is one of my faves.
Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani
Leah is from King of Queens. She is also a pretty dancer. She is one of those girls who will lose a lot of weight doing this show. Mark my words.
Who do I think will go home first?
Keyshawn is my guess.
Bill Nye scored the lowest but I think he will get a lot of votes. (My sister Cindy voted for him 12 times.)
Here is Jack Osbourne. Look at those lovely feet.
Sweet.

Thank you all for being such a beautiful community. You help me. You help others. I think we are very blessed to have one another.
With love,
Donna
Because it's only one night, I might watch. How are they going to register the votes? Hmmmmm
ReplyDeleteThe votes will carry over from week one. I'm not sure if they will announce loser at beginning or end of week two.
DeleteThanks for keeping us current, Donna!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know a lot of the dancers this season, either, but I did enjoy watching. There were several surprises. I missed a few of the first dances and had to go back and find them. I had several favorites after the first night!
ReplyDeleteWho were your favorites Gayle?
DeleteI love that Cindy voted for Bill Nye twelve times!!! Teachers LOVE the science guy, don't they?
ReplyDeleteLike Amy J, I am grateful that you keep me in the know about these shows. Now I can say, "How 'bout that Keshawn on Dancing with the Stars?" to my boys and they will be impressed (-:
You set the tone for the community here, Donna. We're just following your lead!
Love,
DI
I just fell in love with Amber. With Derek as a partner, she will go very far. But she won't win, because at the end of the day, people won't vote for the chubby girl to win. To do well, yes, but not to win. My money is on Corbin. I just love that guy, because the entire HSM Canon has been part of our family soundtrack for 5+ years now... And Jack has lost a ton of weight and seems to have gotten stable and healthy, so it's fun to we him too. I don't usually watch - this year, because it's just one night and our family has changed our schedule to be home more nights, I might see it more often. Either way, I know I'll be able to track it here!!!
ReplyDeletePs - snooki could dance!! I was surprised.
I thought it was a hot mess. I was shocked the judges liked it. I felt she was a whirling dervish.
DeleteSnooki? Yeah, she was whirling all over the map, but I thought her feet had huge potential!
DeleteI have been away and just caught up with you here at QL.
ReplyDeletePraying for Katie W's family, Dear God please bless them with some of her sweet spirit that she will always be a part of their lives. Amen. So very joyful for Katie that she is no longer in any pain and is dancing I feel sure with the angels.
Thanks Donna for the review here of DWTS. It just made my day to see Jack, knowing he does have MS, do so well.
love and prayers, jep
We are very blessed indeed to have one another Donna BOO!
ReplyDeleteChecking in briefly - amen to what Kathy B said - blessed to be a part of this QLCS :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of the night was Jack.
ReplyDeleteSomeone got nines. I didn't think the nines were appropriate for the first night. :)
I loved all your reviews! You make it so much more fun to watch tv shows when I know you are going to have a critique the next day. :)
