Yay for Katie! It looks totally amazing! :-) She's young and hair grows quickly if she decides she doesn't like it which is NOT what her face says at all.
I feel like I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. My daughters are always pinning lots of fun cool hairdo things on Pinterest and I think......hmmm, maybe I should grow my hair out as I'd love to try those styles and that braiding. HA! They just laugh at me and tell me I'm too old to grow my hair out for those young styles :::sigh:::
Tammy, you are not too old for long hair. Seems to be a trend where we live for older women to have long hair now. Sometimes they wear it up and sometimes pulled back and sometimes down. I even saw a really cute grandmother the other day with a braid. My mother did not like me in long hair, although my husband does like my hair long. It was Donna who encouraged me by example to try long hair and I am enjoying it. Also, I don't have to spend time going every two weeks to get my hair cut. Now my husband cuts it for me. ;-) Even our youngest son said the other day, "Mom, I like your hair that way." Follow your heart, age is just a number anyway. love and prayers, jep
She looks like a celebrity! I just can't quite place which one. :) Do I see correctly that she got two donations out of her haircut?? That's a lot o'hair! What a blessing her gift will be to others! xoxo melzie
Katie's beauty comes from within...what a smile! And, what a gift for those who need real hair in Locks of Love. Way to go, Katie! love and prayers, jep
Beautiful. And a beautiful gift, to Locks of Love. I'm 58 and my hair has been short since I was 10 years old. It suits me, as does the gray. Love your posts, Donna.
So beautiful. Does she swish it back and forth like I do when I get it cut short? I love the feeling of those fresh ends ... so clean and tidy!
I am with jep on hair length and age. John's grandmother had gorgeous, VERY long grey hair when I knew her. She would wear it in a bun during the day, but I got to see it down a few times. So pretty!
I remember when she got it cut a couple of years ago. I was amazed at how fast it grew back out! Emma's is the same way. She looks beautiful and that smile is gorgeous! AND what an amazing donation for Locks of Love! Someone out there will have a beautiful wig to wear while they are going through chemo and all thanks to Katie! Way to go!!!
Oh Donna, this brought tears to my eyes. There is so much bad news in the world right now, and this is just one of those beautiful bright spots that reminds me that God is good even in the face of awful circumstances. She is such a precious young lady.
Adorable and sassy! And, a great, brave action. Someone who will need a beautiful wig will be forever grateful for Katie's donation. I know my mother's wig was so natural-looking; she felt just a wee bit better when she wore it. E.
I have to admit I gasped when I saw your sweet Katie holding those two Locks of Love pony tails, but she still looks lovely. Her hair is gorgeous long, and fabulous short! That's the thing about stunningly beautiful faces: They look great with whatever hairstyle strikes your fancy!
Katie looks absolutely adorable...and older!

Wow. So cute!
ReplyDeleteShe is such a ittle beauty, she could pull off any haircut!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! After growing my hair out for so long my first thought was "nooo!!" haha. But she looks beautiful with short hair. So classic. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's this moment in Into the Woods when Cinderella is singing "happy now, happy hence, happy ever after"
ReplyDeleteAnd the stepmother and stepsisters sing in trio:
"We're so happy you're so happy, just as long as you stay happy, we'll stay happy!"
:) seems to fit the occasion...
"I was raised to be charming, not sincere." So many great lines in that one!!

ReplyDeleteWow!!! That haircut really opened up her face- she looks gorgeous! Not many people can really pull off a cut that short, but she does it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful no matter how she wears her hair, but her smile is where she shines!
