So sweet! And that last picture...I sing the "Bushel and a Peck" song to my kiddos all the time. My #2 son always thought the words were "I love you apparel and a beep" instead of "a barrell and a heap." I've never had the heart to correct him. :-D
...a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. My grandmama used to sing that song to me all the time. When she was in the hospital I would put my mouth next to her ear and sing it to her. She would smile without opening her eyes and squeeze my hand. Oh, how I miss her. Sorry to go on. I hadn't thought of it in a while. The photos are fabulous as always.
Southern Gal, what I love about the QLCS is, it's a great place to recall a sweet memory and share it. Somehow Donna's photos, words and outlook bring up those precious times. I love this snapshot of life with your dear Grandma. thanks.
That's exactly why I love this place, too, Susan. I may not get back to comment on the same post as much as I would like, but I always check the next day to see what everyone else has said. Thank you for the sweet words.
What a day to read that quote. For many years, I have had a passion for serving others at a faith-based, non-profit dental clinic I helped start. Yesterday, I sent a letter to the Board of Directors stepping down from my position. Though I still have a deep love for the clinic, I have an even deeper love for my 16-month old grandson. I have the opportunity to play a big part in his life, keeping him several days a week and I am taking advantage of that opportunity.
My calling was the clinic - now it is my grandson.
That is a fantastic quote. One of my big questions this year is what am I called to after my homeschooling is over this year. I am excited to see what that might be.
LOVE that quote...and these pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you Bridget. I wish I had a picture of you decorating your beautiful cookies! :-)
