On the street where you live...EPIC systems.

Just down the road from our house is a big privately owned company called Epic.  If you go to the doctors office or the hospital you most likely have see an Epic product.  They make the software that many, many hospitals have that compiles your information,  I think.  haha.

It is owned by a woman....which is cool.
It is wildly successful.
She has kept big builders working thru the recession.
The latest phases has been these beautiful farm buildings and farm houses.
And the next phase is going to be Harry Potter inspired. Hogwarts.  Yup.

If we thought this complex was remarkable and Olympic village like before...
I know the Harry Potter buildings will be out of this world!!!

One of the many spectacular office buildings at @EPIC.

Interview with Judy. Epic owner.

It's an amazing place....
If you come and visit...we will take you over there.

Encourage one another,

  1. Beautiful! I had to look at it for a bit. It looks like it might be a model for a planned community, but then I saw the sky. Just lovely.

Beautiful buildings. Please let me know when the Hogwarts building is done -- I'll be there!! :)

I work for one of the largest healthcare systems in Minnesota and we use Epic. Great system, can't imagine going back to the world of paper charts. Enjoy your blog, especially the poems!

  4. Interesting interview. I love that this successful business is run by a woman - yes!! The photo of the John Deere is so perfectly amazing I thought it was a diorama when I saw it on FB :-) great shots missy!

I work in a medical office and we are just about to make the transition over to Epic. How unbelievable that the headquarters are down the road from you. I have heard nothing but good things about the system. I used your link and read the article. Very interesting, and what a smart lady. And by the way, I loved your heading. Does anyone else remember Andy Williams singing that song? Talk about romantic. Wasn't it originally from My Fair Lady? I could be wrong.

    Debbie Z.

    1. I mostly remember the song from My Fair Lady...but I bet I heard Andy sing it first..just don't remember. But I know I watch all of this specials.

    2. "I have often walked down this street before, but the pavement aways came beneath my feet before. All at once am I several stories high - knowing I'm on the street where you live" or something like that :-) I thought of it immediately, Debbie Z.

    3. Oops *stayed* beneath my feet ... now the tune is rattling around in my head :-P

I thought of it too and had to go look up Andy singing the song. Here is the link:

  8. Not a fan of epic. Not a good product for NICU
Not designed for NICU. Too much time away from patient due to epic
Oh well. Glad she's a nice lady

    1. Interesting. I am sure all the record keeping is time consuming and counter productive. I bet it has added to your work flow. I know a woman who returned to nursing after s long time away... She quickly quit due to all the new rules and tech.

It's such a beautiful, unique campus. Do you ever see Faulkner around your small burg? At the dog park perhaps???? Karen F.

  10. I too thought it looked like a model at first! Wow, gorgeous!!!! I work for Minnesota's largest health system (I work in Wisconsin), and we use Epic. Once people get used to working with the system, they really appreciate it. I had no idea they had such a beautiful campus! Fun!

lens baby? Or that thing Mac's can do? alt shift or tilt? Or something? Either way, love the perspective.

It would have been have nice to have something like that going for my pipe fitting husband. 9 months off one stint. 6 months off at another time and a few times of 1-2 months off.

My kiddos got to see first hand the Lord is our provider! Praise God he never had to travel for work. The Lord just provided. Every single time.

I am a homeschooling no income mamma. My kids didn't even have to miss a season of their sports. God is good!
