Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to say 'hi' today and wish you a fantastic day!
Whatever you are doing...

cooking
eating
serving at a food kitchen
visiting relatives
watching football....

whatever you may do...

may it be with love and joy and thanks :o)

Two or things things I thought were pretty cool for today.

I just got an email from our oldest son, Patrick Jr.

He lives in Washington State.

He wrote to tell us that he was having Thanksgiving dinner with his cousin, Ellie, and her husband in Oregon.

The fact that those two young cousins are able to share this day together makes me so thankful.

I am thankful that family is important to them.
I am thankful that they are getting together without anyone orchestrating it.

It just makes my day. I don't know why. But it does.

And then there is our pumpkin pie.

We are bringing pumpkin pie and graham cracker cake and dinner rolls to our thanksgiving get together.

I have made the pie's from scratch in the past. And they are fine and good and my husband likes them.

But last weekend we were wandering the aisles at Costco and we saw the biggest pumpkin pie we had ever seen.

It must be 12 inches across. Huge.

But it looked good. And Patrick being an ex-bakery owner knows about this sort of thing.

So we bought one to test it out.

It only cost 5.99 so we were not taking a big risk here if it was icky.

And to our surprise and delight, the pie was really good.
In fact, Patrick says it is the closest tasting pie to the one he used to make at the bakery.

(Boucher's Bakery, for the curious)

So after our lovely anniversary dinner last night we ran into Costco to pick up
a fresh, un-tasted pie.

What a sweet deal!

Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds.
