In which I style

Anne Hathaway would look wonderful in this dress, don't you think?

Many of the girls would look lovely in this.

A neat thing about the Golden Globes is there are many older actresses nominated.  Older meaning over 50, thank you very much.

This is my preferred hair and makeup.

Helen should be there.
She is amazing.

Someone should wear Oscar de la Renta.
Love him.

Yes.  I know. It's a wedding dress.  But just look at it!

My hopes are high for pretty dresses tonight.
I will be recording Downton Abbey and the Golden Globes so as not to miss a thing.

Tonight's Downton promises to be splendid!

  2. Sunday nights are so full of good TV. I'd forgotten the Golden Globes were on tonight, so thanks!

Love that wedding dress. Ruffles, sigh.

  3. I can only record 2 things... and I have a grandbaby coming home tonight! Decisions.... Downton, Revenge, Golden Globes, Mentalist, and Cora Jane. Well, I am sure Cora will get the bulk of my attention. Will probably have to catch the network shows either online or later On Demand.

Did you go see the pictures I put up at my blog? Just a couple. Most are on my Facebook page. Cora has her own album now.

    1. Oh! Cora is beautiful!! A perfect little girl. Is her name from Downton?

    2. No, her mom just likes the name... plus the fact that it isn't common (although I think that is changing; I've seen articles that have it as a trending name, I guess due to the popularity of Downton).

That photographer's artist eye of yours always picks out the best dresses. There is a book entitled A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff that my Nebraska librarian friend read in her book club and she said would be a great pairing with Downton Abbey, so I checked it out from the library. It is about Phoebe Swift, the owner of a vintage dress shop who worked at Sotheby's in the textile department before opening her shop. Since we don't have great TV reception, I will be reading tonight and look forward to reading about the dresses tomorrow. You are my news source of choice!
    love and prayers, jep

  9. I keep saying I am going to watch Downton and then something happens and I miss it. I have not watched a single show, but I really want to start. Should I go back to the beginning and start with season 1?

Your dress picks are lovely. My girls and I are ready here to watch and pick our favorites. I'm looking forward to stopping by in the morning to read what you have to say. :)

    1. yes. You MUST start with season, 1, which is streaming on Netflix and amazon... 2 is on amazon, and I thought I heard that it was heading to Netflix, too. 3 will be on the PBS website, but not for very long. Worth catching up! Don't start with 3. You'll be lost!!

    2. And if you have a library, I imagine they own a copy on DVD--also a great way to watch.

  10. My son has the television tonight so I'm recording Downton Abbey and will come here in the morning to see your review. I would rather read your review than the professionals.

  13. No cable. No DVR. Not a huge amount of interest in the actual show of the globes - though I love Tina and Amy - so I'll content myself with the aftermath in magazines and on QLCS. DA, though, I have to watch when it happens, pot of English tea and all. It's what we do. :)
