Are there any other ways to say, I love these pictures???? All of them. There is something about the one of Emma that just took my breath away!!!! Truly!! xo
I love that one of Katie's smile .... and the cheese! I love cheese.
The Yeats quote is a great way to live.
Happy Friday! It's our newlywed's moving day, so I am sad, but also very excited for them. They are moving to Seattle, a v-e-r-y long car ride away. How far is Omaha for you?
Omaha is 7 hours away. Patrick jr. is by you. Emma is 3 hours away. All of them are unacceptable to my mother's soul. But I am not in charge of such things. I will be asking God about this one day.
I remember when I moved away from Anchorage to Seattle. I was a single gal, moving with my dear friend who is the closest thing I have to a big sister.
It was so exciting - looking back I thought I was so brave, but really it was my parents who had to take a big gulp, and trust that it was all going to be well.
I remember my Mom came to the breakfast table, the day we were set to drive away, in her sunglasses. Oh the tears.
Hi Di, Joining you in a day or two in the good-bye department as I send Sam off to the Marines. I was cleaning out his room yesterday, and it was like a trip down childhood lane.
Take good care, and hoping for safe travel for Zack and Faith.
Ahhhh, the green of grass! Snowing here today. Snowing there? Some talk of skiing tomorrow.....think I'll settle by the fire at home while they go break a leg ;-)
Go On. I like that show, too. Love the Yeats quote. My senses must be dull. I don't remember hearing it. I'll have to fetch the last episode from the TiVo trash and see if I can find it. Lovely photos, Donna.
When the new girl took Matthew P. up on the roof. She said the first part...and then when they saw the skyline, he said the second part. (I think tha's how it went.)
Your girls have the most beautiful hair. It's good to see Emma's hair growing long again. She has such a beautiful soul that just radiates in your pictures.
oh my word. I love that quote! And I agree, that picture of Emma is really great. Which is interesting because it's such an everyday moment picture in which there's nothing overtly amazing - and yet it's rather arresting. Your pictures are always fabulous.
I have a friend who told me her mother's thought on raising children was always, "Every day I have my child, I give her away a little more." My question is, "Why does it hurt so much when they leave us?" Thank you Alison for your son Sam and his service to our country. We will pray for him and for Zack and Faith and all the children here at QL. Lovely photographs Donna, it is a comfort as well as an education to come here. love and prayers, jep
Love the quote AND Ryan King and the rest of the Go On gang. I agree with the others that the picture of Emma is beautiful, but I especially like the look on Katie's face in that same pic. Both your girls are so gorgeous....as is little Asher. Boucher beauty, I guess! :)

Your words register with this mom's heart - God bless you Alison, and your son.
DeleteSunglasses are the perfect solution. I just stood on the front porch, waving and wiping away the tears. I do not like goodbyes.
DeleteAlison, you and Sam have been on my heart all week. Bless you, my friend.
