"Do I charize you?"
"Cute, definitely cute."
Richard Dreyfus. Elliot.
The Goodbye girl.
"He is coming back!!"
"I never doubted it for a minute."
This movie came out when I was in college (1977)...how I loved it.

Emma's boss needed some new pictures so I met them at the office near Daley Plaza in Chicago.
I had never met Erik before and had only see a little picture of him on the Internet. Let me just say...that little picture was terrible.
Here are some pictures I took. We had a great time. Erik is as handsome and easy as he is smart and professional.
We started out inside. I used Emma to make sure the light was right. We had to walk around the floor to find a spot with the best light. I used my 50mm Nikkor lens to shoot all of these.
This spot was occupied at first...when we came back to it I took some fun silhouettes. Without a flash you can not get the city and the subject properly lit. That's why I thought of a silhouette.
Erik liked the buildings in the background so I made him walk toward me a few times. People thought he was famous. We like how these turned out.
We walked over to the sunshine to get another 'look'. These are my favorites. Now I don't know how professionals think....But I like making Erik Miles Attorney at Law look like a model. Erik's friend Wilfred Newman is a designer and made this beautiful suit.
That was last Friday. Man, time flies.

We have a beautiful day here in Wisconsin. The sun is shining so bright...I think Ginny and I will go to the dog park. Katie has a dance tonight and then four softball games this weekend.
Baseball is almost the only orderly thing in a very unorderly world. If you get three strikes, even the best lawyer in the world can't get you off.

Donna You have a gift for relaxing people in front of the lens. HE is a HANDSOME dude!
ReplyDeleteLove all things baseball. Went to the Norfolk TIDES game over Easter with Al and a family
SUCH Fun.
Um. OK Anonymous. ^
ReplyDeleteDavid Gates singing Goodbye Girl is one of my faves from 1977-1978. Loved that movie. I met my future husband in high school that year. (I've also been reliving 1977 because I found an old ticket stub from our first concert together, Billy Joel, after watching him and Jimmy Fallon sing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". It was exactly 35 years ago when I posted here: http://itwasbroughtonbylove.blogspot.com/2014/03/flashback-friday.html)
Those shots are fabulous. Very professional with great lighting as always!
Good. Anonymous is gone. ;)
DeleteLOVE The Goodbye Girl, your pictures and baseball. Marsha Mason and her little girl – and Richard Dreyfus in Shakespeare. All their witty banter. LOVE! Emma’s boss is very good looking. No wonder people thought you were photographing someone famous!
ReplyDeleteWent to the Cubs game on Wednesday when they celebrated Wrigley Field’s 100th birthday. Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Andre Dawson and lots of my other heroes were there. It was such a special day. Good luck to Katie this weekend! I’m adding my kids playing softball/baseball to the list of things I miss.

Emma's boss is very handsome. Very creative pictures, Donna! I really like the first pic with the buildings in the background with him walking towards you. What a great smile.
ReplyDeleteCheers to good weather! It's a beautiful day in Iowa, too.

Awesome shots Donna! The last 2 are my favorites
ReplyDeleteI agree with all here, Eric is a handsome young man and you take fantastic photographs. How blessed he is to have Emma work for him and get you to take the photographs.
ReplyDeleteI do remember The Goodbye Girl and there was something about Richard D. having to hurry to the Oscars and then hurry back to the East Coast where he was working on something else. He is an amazing actor. Enjoy the Spring weather and the busy weekend! love and prayers, jep
I want Erik to be my boss! : )
ReplyDeleteMillion dollar smile!
Love the suit. LOVE the sparkle.
You did a great job.

How great would that look on a business card?
Have a fabulous weekend.
I like that Beckie!!!
DeleteWow, the magazines are going to be calling you next, Donna. What a great job you did photographing Emma's boss. Very GQ and he wears that suit very well. So glad you are finally getting beautiful sunshine. Yea spring, yea softball/baseball !! Sitting at a game on a lovely day is one of the most relaxing things I can think of.
ReplyDeleteDebbie Z.
Holy Toledo! Is he ever good looking! No wonder people thought he was a celebrity. How come I never end up with Bosses that look like that? Great photos Donna E. Hope you had fun at the dog park. :) Karen F.
ReplyDeleteGood grief, he's handsome. And your shots - especially the last two - look like catalog ads, in the best amazing way. Don't be surprised if his suit maker calls you for more photos. Wow.
ReplyDeleteRex would LOVE to wear that suit! And the shoes. Very handsome, Donna. And beautiful pics.
DeleteLove,
Di
Ps. Never seen the movie!!!
ReplyDeleteI am uncharacteristically late to the party. Flying to Alaska to visit a dad with no WiFi will do that to ya!
ReplyDeleteOh I love that movie. And the song. Have not seen it in AGES.
The photos are the HUGE. What fun.
This summer my plan is to work on my photography skills, thanks for the inspiration. I agree that the outside photos with the buildings are by far the best, handsome guy ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos as always Donna! Were you nervous as all? I still get nervous during most any photo shoot.
ReplyDeleteHi Norma,
ReplyDeleteBecause I was not working for $$ this time...I was very relaxed. (Erik did give me a very nice gift card as a thank you)
I wonder if a meeting beforehand would make us feel more relaxed?
I adore the light in those last two! Why shouldn't a lawyer look like a model...especially when the lawyer in question actually looks like a model! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pics Donna. God has truly blessed you with amazing talent.
