I hate April Fools day.

If you knew how long it took me to pick out this picture and upload it well...you would think I was an April fool.

There is a gag they do on Elvis Duran's morning radio show.  They call it Phone Tap.  They make a phone call and trick someone by making up a crazy story.   It usually ends in a big fight and screaming.

I hate it.  I can not listen to it.  I always turn the channel.  Why is it funny to upset someone?

I have a few people in my life who think it's funny to upset me.

I do not think it is funny and I hate it.

But to some people this is hilarious.

If anyone ever phone taps me.  I will kill them.

Happy April Fools day.

Love
Donna

    1. That was a very good joke, Amy. It did not make me mad. Just made me a little bit scared.

I am so glad we didn't make you mad. But, it sure made for an interesting day. My favorite prank was on Nancy W. - she received a letter stating that due to reports of multiple school breaks, their family was going to be required to homeschool over the summer :). They didn't fall for it.

I enjoy the joking. We tried the 'ole Saran Wrap in the doorway on Andrew today. It would have worked had he not spotted the flash from Carrie's camera!

Hope you made it through your day, prank-free!

    3. I learned how to short sheet a bed at Honey Rock camp. I came home and did it to my parent's king size bed. It was funny!! My dad yelled out "Donna!!!". He knew the recent camper was the guilty party. Looking back...I'm sure they were most surprised that I had the gumption to unmake and remake their bed!!!
      hahaha

LOL I will kill them. Donna, you make me laugh!! : )

Sidenote: I don't like this day either. Lost a dear friend in a tragic way on April fools. Eleven years ago. Remembering happy times and counting my blessings today. : )

  3. I don't love April Fool's either. We don't do anything and only occasionally have our kids tried a prank. We should start a support group for people who don't like silly or mean holidays. :)

  6. Word.

I'm happy that, as far as I know, April Fools Day pranks and such don't seem to be done over here. yay!

I must add, my younger daughter was born in the wee hours of the morning on April 2nd, and I breathed a sigh of relief that she wasn't born on April 1st. I'm just sayin'.

I have a hard time laughing at most April Fools pranks. I usually just roll my eyes. But your post today? I am rolling in the floor laughing!! I love it!

  10. My hubby and I have a terrible time laughing at ourselves, and we are NOT practical jokers AT ALL. Our children think that we are real downers, but I just don't get the April Fool's jokes. I am really with you, Donna.

One year Rex posted that Zack had a 105 degree fever...and that he might not make it through the day. I got a phone call from a friend in VA who was trying to figure out if she could make it out here for Zack's funeral. So.Not.Funny. But my boys and the VA boy thought it was hilarious. Good grief.

    Love,
    Di

Oh Di, one of our youngest son's friends did something like that when they were all in high school…posting that he was going to kill all of his friends. It was very upsetting to me….very!!

Garrett Popcorn tweeted today: What if instead of creating pranks on #AprilFoolsDay, you did something to make someone happy? This proves that they have good ideas in addition to very good popcorn. :)

Oh Donna, your last line made me laugh. I hate this day, too. I told Eric to not be a fool today.

  13. Agree about not liking pranks. My middle son is very good at telling a story (lie!) with a straight face. His last year of med school, he told me that because of a reporting error, some of his hours did not apply and he would not be graduating. Three years before that, I was facing a surgery that required a rather long rehab. He told me he was dropping out of school to "help" me. And that is not all that he has pulled.

I have learned never to trust him when he calls me on April 1.

  14. I do not like pranks, practical jokes, or any of the shenanigans that goes on today, or any day. I LOVE having a good time and can yuck it up with the best of them, but the tom foolery? Forget it.

It seems to never end once the one who gets pranked has to out do the prankster ! I married my husband for many reasons, but one of them was because he was mature and didn't act like the other High School Harry's. So Donna, you apparently are not alone. I worry about your last sentence, being on the net, if you know what I mean !!

  17. I don't like it either. I have been 'fooled' twice in recent years. Now I make a mental note not to believe anyone on 4/01 without verification. I love to laugh but pranks aren't funny to me.

  18. my best friend did an April Fools joke on FB today. I was not amused. I was actually angry that she would do such a thing. I found it surprising that this feeling rose up in me. Even though I am a big joker...I do not find this "fooling" thing funny.....

  19. I go to a women's group on Tuesdays. It's called PWOC, Protestant Women of the Chapel, and it is a military thing. Anyway, we had a nice program today. Our food was potluck and we were encouraged to bring an April Fools day dish. I had never heard of this and did not prepare. But others did and I enjoyed it very much. One person made "martinis" in plastic martini cups (red jello, orange slice and toothpick through a grape for garnish.) Someone else made tiny "hamburgers" that were vanilla wafers on the outside, thin mint for the patty, and yellow red and green icing for the lettuce tomato and mustard. She even put sesame seeds on the tops, very realistic. Very cute. You get the idea. You can google April Fools Recipes and find all sorts of stuff. This was fun, but not the lying about being pregnant, etc…

  20. I don't like April Fool's Day either ... seems senseless to me. I also don't like how Halloween has become such a popular day ... don't understand how running around in costume and doing crazy things is celebratory ... guess I am getting VERY old ...... Linda
