New Shoes

Is there anything better than new shoes?

Not for Katie.

She needed something that would go with her graduation dress...and since I steer her away from HIGH heels.... these cute red Toms will do just fine.

Katie has spring break this week.
It snowed last night and it stuck.

I think we will go to the movies today.  I hear God's Not Dead is good.
Then it's softball practice.  Inside.

I like baseball....and movies...and being with Katie....

Life is good.
Even when it snows in April...

Encourage one another,
Donna

Cute Toms! I like the silly poses. Have a fun day!
    Jumping the 'I like...' bandwagon...
I like casseroles. Because that means leftovers and I don't have to cook tonight. : ) Life IS good.

    1. I like walking to the grocery store and to get my haircut!

AND... I like leftovers too, Sarah P. :-) Easy on the cook, and less dishes to wash, too!

  3. Oh, *do* go see God's Not Dead! It was very good. Even my husband liked it, and he's a movie critic. Not really, but he thinks he is. :-)

Cute shoes! I have just discovered how comfortable Toms (and Bobs) are. Boo for the snow. It is supposed to get near-record lows here the next day or so, and I am so over winter that it is making me depressed. Ready for warm temps and sunshine!

  4. Let's all face it...Katie could wear construction boots and look absolutely adorable!! That girl is amaze-balls to the MAX! I've often wondered if TOMS were comfy. My young girls have a couple pair and sadly I've been disappointed with the quality :( I want to love them for what they do, but for the price, they should be of better quality, IMO. Anyhow--have a great day! Movies and casseroles sound fab! Me? Laundry--NOT so fab!

    1. I agree with you.. the quality is not good and the price is high.
I really think we buy them for altruistic reasons.

  6. Kaishon hates new shoes. He is currently wearing a pair that is a size and a half too small. I don't know what to do with him. Can I send him for a week of rehabilitation at your house? : )

Cool shoes! Have you heard that Tom is going into the coffee business and will give a free week of water to places that need it with each purchase of coffee? I think I just read that in the newspaper. love and prayers, jep
PS We watched The Book Thief and really liked the acting, sets...well, just everything about it. Thanks for the recommendation.

  8. I LOVE red shoes. They are the best. There are several pairs of Toms at our house...I think they are very comfortable, but I need more arch support than they offer.

The first picture? So fun. Dear Toms: Have you seen this cool picture at Quiet Life? Check It Out.

And graduation! So exciting. High school, here comes Miss Katie! Good times ahead.

I like: my morning cup of coffee. A lot. And once that is gone, I will remember what else I like (-:

    Happy Monday, all,
    Di

  12. I've been shocked this year to hear how many schools have waited until now for spring break.. so glad that our district decided to separate spring break from easter so we were off the last week in march. [and speaking as a pastor's family at a historic, liturgical church, it's a lot easier to have the kids busy and at school during Holy Week!!!]. Anyway, red shoes are the bomb. I wore my favorite pair to church on Christmas Eve of 2004... and had to get rid of them when my water broke all over them. I still lament that. Like THAT was the thing to remember about that night. :)

  14. I have several pairs of Toms and they are my "go to" shoes for summer! Love their shoes and their "cause". Red is my FAVORITE color ... I consider it the "black dress" of my wardrobe! Let us know what you think of the movie ... might be interested in seeing it! So much garbage out there lately .....

    1. The movie was definitely NOT garbage. It was touching and well acted. They sterotypes were only slightly annoying to me. But the message is wonderful and Katie and I both really liked it...and both cried.

  15. We are having Spring Break here from our school too. So I am off all this week. It rained all day today, which got me in a contemplative mood. But all is well ~

    Love the shoes!
