What really haunts me....

This picture.
Out of all the pictures I have ever taken....
this is the one that haunts me.

It was taken in 2011.
We did not know Emma had epilepsy.

When you learn that you have epilepsy you are told to be careful of certain situations;
Swimming, bathing, climbing up high...

And I think of all the times Emma swam and bathed and climbed up high...

And I am ever so thankful that she did not get hurt....
or fall off of a 32 story building.

True anxiety thinking about this.

But it didn't happen.
But what if it did.
But it didn't.

God has taught me a lot of things.
But the greatest of these is love.

We may have political differences...
there may be tattoos.... ;o)
Some people may have big opinions...
and be rather dramatic....
*me

But with the help of God's love and His ways of forgiveness...
love deepens and relationships thrive.

I am keenly aware of how fragile life is.
Fragile and fleeting.

Let nothing come between you and your loved ones.

"We spend precious hours fearing the inevitable.  It would be wise to use that time adoring our families, cherishing our friends and living our lives."
~Maya Angelou

Encourage one another,
Donna

  3. You have a tattoo? 😉 Just kidding. I think my adult kids have taught me so much about accepting people with different viewpoints than I have. And about letting go of the prejudices that really just do not matter. "The greatest of these is love."

    1. Heh. Heh. Not yet.
We love our kids so much... and then they turn out different than us in some ways.... and we realize... we still love them so much. Well... ideally.....sadly, it's not always true...
      And that's heartbreaking.

  8. My daughter has MS and I feel the same way when I look at old pictures of her. How healthy she was. She could run and walk. Prayers for our daughters that they might be healed. Every day is a blessing.

  9. Thank you for always bringing me to a place of calmness. It sounds so dramatic doesn't it? That a complete stranger can calm me but you do, your words often do and for that I thank you.
