Add to the beauty: Meaning

I'm reading the through the Bible this year.

Started in June with the encouragement from Allie, Proverbs 31 girl

Yesterday we finished Job.  Allie's comments on suffering and eternal focus were just perfect and I wish I could share then but they went away.  (Clips on Instagram stories only last 24 hours unless they are saved in a special place).

However, Allie also shared this song. Though you Slay Me by Shane and Shane with words from John Piper.  I just sobbed while listening to them.  Suffering is a big stumbling block, for I would say...all of us.  Understanding and believing that our suffering is not meaningless, well,  that is everything.  Our loved ones are waiting for us.

Have a listen to this song and make sure your tissues are nearby.

Love you all.

Mean it.

I never heard this song before. Wow. In the midst of chemo, I reconnected with a college roommate dealing with chronic illness. I got us both sweatshirts that say "Even If" and underneath "Daniel 3:18." From when Daniel's 3 friends went into the furnace with full faith that God could save them, but "even if" He didn't they would still worship Him. This song and message are a lovely exclamation point to that assertion. Love you too Donna :)

    1. Thank you Anita, for your thoughtful comment. Even if. (So many lessons from Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego aka Hardrock, Coco and Joe. *wink)

  2. Thanks for posting the song, Donna. My pastor's wife died last night rather suddenly. A family member is suffering with repeat miscarriages. I am just so sad today. John Pipers words were so needed. Thank you to Anita for the reminder of "even if."

    1. (((Robin))) May all those suffering come to the realization that their suffering is not meaningless. God bless you.

Hello. So nice to see you. Would you like to leave a comment? Be very kind.
