Suffer and like it.

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time. ~John Lubbock

Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it. ~Russel Baker

  1. I get through miserable heat waves knowing that somebody out there is happy. I didn't say I liked the heat any more. But I get through.

While chit-chatting with the receptionist during an appointment this week, we commiserated about the weather and then I realized, "six months from now we will be complaining we're cold!" That quieted us both. :)

  3. Sometimes I think summer is my favorite, then fall, then spring. Never winter, though. We've had more than I can count days of over 100 degrees. 100 muggy, humid, hot degrees, but we picked five gallons of blueberries today and ended with a swim party. Lots to be thankful for!

  4. That is a great quote!

I love the little bicycle in the background. How sweet is that? Katie looks darling.

I worry about my Mom and Dad in the heat. They only have room air conditioners and my Dad doesn't even like to turn them on because his electric bill is so high. I tell him he is CRAZY, but he doesn't always listen to me. Kaish works at a pool, so he jumps in often. Gary works in a warehouse and he comes home dripping with sweat. I feel bad for him too. I stay in my air conditioned car and air conditioned house. When I go visit the families I work with I take water ice and we sit on their porches.

I hope you stay cool this week! Love, Becky
