Where have you been?

Hi friends.
I'm back.
Where have I been, you ask?
I have been working the hardest job of my life.
Friday was my last day.

I worked with great women...who worked so hard and did great work!
I feel guilty for leaving.  (And guilt is not really something I'm very familiar with...)
But leave I did.
It was a matter of quality of life.
I was useless to do anything else in a day besides this job.
Once I sat down on the couch I could not get up.
It was rough.

(I will continue to sub and hope to pick up a less stressful position.)

This is me on Friday afternoon. :o)

"November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.

With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.

The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring."

All is well with the Booshays....
Katie is applying to colleges and is interviewing here and there.

Matthew, Melinda and crew will be coming here for Thanksgiving and I could not be happier.

How are you?
We FALL BACK that will be's so very dark out there.
Have you heard of Hygge?

It's a Danish way of being....and we will talk about that this week....

Miss you friends.
Love you

  1. I️ love you. That is all.

  2. It's so great to see you here! I got so excited, I tried commenting from my laptop (which never works) - I'm outta practice!

Good for you for knowing when to leave the job; that can be so difficult to determine.

I love the Phoebe running clip, that is perf.

I look forward to hearing more about Hygge. I have a little book about it on my kindle - I should look at it!

Rest up, Miz B. You've been missed!

  3. Love you bunches, dear Donna.

Good for you- sometimes leaving is the very best decision. I quit a job once after working for a boss who was mean and tyrannical and I could have kept on putting up with it, but decided to leave. So I understand your video totally. The relief! Looking forward to your upcoming posts- you have been so missed!

  6. Love you and am very glad to see you back!! xoxo

Donna, No one can understand the demands of working in a school until one experiences it. Although that can be said of any occupation, I suppose. I taught for 30 years, usually spending 10 - 12 hours a day at school, and many days a couple more at home. Bless you for the smiles, hugs and encouragement you shared with your students the past months. Now, relax and enjoy!

  8. You fall back, and get an extra hour of sleep. I work 14 hours instead of 13. And dread not seeing the light for the next 6 months.

    1. I really think it’s my least favorite day of the year.

    2. Feeling really sorry for myself. 😭🤣😭🤣😭

      Woe is me.

    3. So Sorry Melinda. May these winter months fly by!

    4. I'm so sorry. My daughter and husband are the same way. SAD is a real thing! I hope this winter will be better for you!

    5. Melinda, I also dread this time of year. It will be dark when I go into the kitchen to make dinner later and I will feel myself sinking. Sigh. Keep the faith! It's only a season, only a few months. We can do it!

  9. So glad to have you back!

  10. Thank you all for the wonderful welcome back.
Every comment is a gift to me!
    Love you
    Mean it

  11. no guilt! I am so relieved for you!

  12. I'm happy that you realized it wasn't the job for you. Quality of life is important!! I was looking forward to your November poem. ;)

  13. So glad you are back, Donna. You were missed! Glad your family is well. I work part time, and come home in pain after a shift. I totally understand what you mean by quality of life. Really looking forward to stopping by and reading your posts.

The song to the old TV show "Welcome Back Kotter" is playing in my head right now. You are right to do what is the best for you and your guilt! You have been sorely missed here. I am sure that I am not the only one to come every day to look for you...Welcome back Miz Boo...we do love you! Love and prayers, jep

  15. Love you Donna! Rest well and enjoy time with family.

  22. I'm tardy checking in on you, Boo! Oh my goodness. I, too, work in a school. Your line, "useless to do anything else but the job" -- how I relate. Praying God shows me a change if He desires. Hope your new job is working out. Not easy at this stage of life to join the working gals. )-:

Hello. So nice to see you. Would you like to leave a comment? Be very kind.
