The Oscars: My Super Bowl.

Isn't this a wonderful poster?  I find it interesting how many actresses skipped the show in the 60's and 70's.  The first four dresses of color were green hues.  Lots of white lately.  Of course I love the dresses from the middle of the century.  Mid century classics.

I looked at collections from the most recent Paris and New York shows and have picked some nice dresses....I wonder if any of them will show up tomorrow night?

It's been very rainy in LA this week.  I wonder if we will see some long sleeves?  I love the fabric in my top choice...it is probably way too covered up...and no where to put jewels...unless in a head band thing with a big bun....

I love the tea length or shorter dresses.  I wouldn't mind seeing shorter dresses like the yellow dress above.

Oh!  I am getting so excited!
Tune in to watch the Oscars on Sunday night and come back Monday to see my picks and pans....
Not so many pans...maybe one.

Watch for my Oscar outfit on Instagram, FB, and Twitter tomorrow night!

XOXO
Donna

  3. Love that second dress. It is fabric that I would really like to hold in my hand and hold up to the light!

Great poster. Claire will want it, I know.

Luise Rainier's dress....wow! Love fabric on the blue and white gown, but the last dress definitely is stunning.

My favorite is dress #3, there's nothing like a high neck line, off the shoulders to scream classy and sexy at the same time. I myself will be watching the Oscars in my designer L.L. Bean flannel p.J. pants along with the never goes out of style Eddie Bauer Sweatshirt. Enjoy the show. Karen F.

Thanks Donna, I love the invite, but it's too late on Sunday night, I will want to be all snuggly warm in my Designer digs, munching my popcorn, flopped on my couch. Love you, K.

  10. That poster is amazingly fun, Donna! And I love your dress picks, well, except for the last one which is a way too low vee for me (she needs a cami underneath it ) However, I am certainly no fashionista and am very thankful for teenaged daughters to help me through these years of having to be out in the public as they give me their thumbs up or thumbs down when I try new things

    Blessings,

I cannot wait until tomorrow!! I've watched 3 films in the past week alone to try and catch up, but still haven't hit them all. My friend is having a watch party with games and prizes, so that will add a little extra fun to an already big night. :)

Love the poster and look forward to coming here on Monday!

  14. The poster is great!! I think the middle three dresses you chose were my favorites, but that icy blue one takes the cake. Gorgeous! Always enjoy your fashion recaps. I, too, will be watching tomorrow night in my jammies and a bowl of popcorn. Funny...my husband calls this my Super Bowl, too!

  16. That poster is really neat! Our local Sunday paper had pictures of some famous designer dresses with guesses as to which actress would wear which designer. I am looking forward to your round-up in the morning!
