Last Thursday I took myself to an afternoon showing of Downton Abbey.
Until my sister Janet raved about it, I wasn't sure I would go to see it.
(on the big screen)
I am so thankful that I did.
Go see this movie on the big screen.
Go in the morning or afternoon if you don't want to pay full price.
But really, GO!
The cinematography is awesome and the music soars!
This can best be viewed on the big, big screen!
From the moment it began all the wit, whimsy and wonderfulness of Downton Abbey flowed over me.
I can't remember being this delighted by a movie!
I giggled.
In fact, I haven't heard this much laughing out loud in a movie theater in years.
I wept.
Tears just kept dripping from my eyes.
It was emotional and beautiful.
I implore you to GO!

I saw it and I loved it. I realized I had missed the characters and the music. It was good to be back with them for a little while.

I went last Saturday night with two of my daughters. We loved it. The dresses,the bantering, the scenery, and oh that music. I usually wait for movies to come out on dvd, but seeing this one on the big screen was so worth it. We didn't want it to end.☺
ReplyDeleteOn the way home we were saying they didn't show the kids very much. We were trying to figure out who the little girl was that was on Mary's lap a couple of times. Can anyone refresh my memory?
That's Mary's baby she had with Talbot. Isn't that funny! I forgot all about that! We don't know her name and I didn't remember until I watched the finale on Masterpiece the other day!

I went to a matinee with my husband and daughter. I loved it so much. The house was so much more on the big screen- those rooms, the ladies' dressing tables, the staircase, and the crunch of the graveled drive! And the dresses, oh my. The fabrics, the detailing. We all laughed out loud many times- the wit was perfect.

I loved the conversation with Granny and Mary at the end. I think Granny told her "you are the best part of me". Perfect expression of love!

I loved it SO much. When the music started, the waterworks threatened. What a beautiful world Julian Fellowes created...and a perfectly wonderful cast of characters inhabit it. Such a treat to be able to go back for a few short hours. :)
ReplyDeleteI simply loved this movie. I cried when the music began. I was never a Downton Abbey groupie, but I loved it in the end and loved the movie even more. The castle was a big part of the movie and we got to see it from all sides.
