Count that Day Lost

If you sit down at set of sun
And count the acts that you have done,
And, counting, find
One Self-denying deed, one word
That eased the heart of him who heard,
One glance most kind
That fell like sunshine where it went-
Then you may count that day well spent.

But if, through all the livelong day,
You've cheered no heart, by yea or nay-
If, through it all
You've nothing done that you can trace-
That brought sunshine to one face-
No act most small
That helped some soul and nothing cost-
Then count that day as worse than lost.

~George Eliot

Emma and her traveling partner leave Tuesday morning for Vijayawada, India.
They will fly from Chicago to Frankfort and then on to Hyderabad.

Could you keep them in your prayers as they travel around the world?

Emma sent out a letter of support for this trip and I am humbled to report that friends and relatives gave enough to cover the very expensive plane ticket.

This was an important step out in faith for Emma.
Her first support letter.

She saw people come thru...
she saw God come thru.

We believe that God is in every little and big thing we do.
We believe He must have wanted her to go to India.

And so she goes.

To serve and teach and to sing and to pray and to love.

Emma is a brave girl who loves God and desires to pass it on...

I am so proud of her.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia

again...

Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.... You don't have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

If you think you are too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito. ~Betty Reese

I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do. ~Edward Everett Hale

So shines a good deed in a weary world.
