Where the food is.

Benjamin Button lives

Benjamin Button seems to be doing fine.  He is almost too big for his small nest.  As you can see the other eggs did not hatch.  We only peek at him once a day and it is wild to see the over night changes.

Day three of school and I have already forgotten to make Katie's lunch.
Learning to accept another's shortcoming begins at home.
You can quote me on that.

Two years ago.

Warm Windy Omaha with my dear ones....

I forgot their lunches too....
Well...except for Emma....
She stayed home.
Where the food was.

Encourage one another,

  1. "She stayed home. Where the food was." Donna, you are so funny. I know Brennan is super happy at school, but he does miss the constant access to food. I pack enough for a small army every morning. And he comes home starving. Oh, to have that metabolism.

Happy Friday all! It's been a long week, and I am so happy to have a three day weekend ahead.

    Love ya,

I think you are a great mom for packing lunches at all. My baby is now in 7th grade. Six children. I have never packed a lunch. They all did it for themselves except for the three times a month I would let them each choose hot lunches. (As you can imagine, I had a few who cheated that system and I made them pay me back!!!)

The biggest payback story belongs to my son Jack. I will tell it if anyone wants to know!

  3. Funny you should mention lunch. We've always made the kids buy lunch or make their own, and it was always pretty cheap so they would buy. We may be looking at that anew! My son texted me twice this week from the school cafeteria saying he was out of funds. I was able to add money from my phone app immediately so he could eat, but I added $30 Friday, $30 Tuesday, and he was out again today! I just looked at the account and each day you can see charges for two entrees, two sides, and two drinks. He texted me what he ate and it's precisely half of what' being charged every day - sure looks like another kid is using his number. The wonders of technology, lol.

  4. Aww what a great family photo. Whose the photographer ? She must be amazing.
Love baby Benjamin Button Bird. Do you make him lunch? ???
Hang on to the nest baby, we are expecting gusty storms here...

  5. I AM quoting you on that 'begins at home stuff . . ' It's a keeper :)

  6. Benjamin Button is getting so many feathers now!

The quote is spectacular because it is, oh, so true.

  7. Learning to accept another's, and maybe our own shortcomings... love this. Wonderful post, as always.

  8. Yes Bridget, please tell! I love a good story!

  9. ^I agree with Jodie! Please do share your story, Bridget. :)
