Sherry at Semicolon was handing out letters last week...
she graciously gave me an "L".
"No man can put a chain about the ankle of his fellow man without at last finding the other end fastened about his own neck."
~Frederick Douglass, speech, Civil Rights Mass Meeting, Washington, D.C., 1883
The Lord God:
I love the Lord. I do.
A long talk with someone I care about just fills my heart like almost nothing else.
Long haired dogs:
A rare treat for me.
It has been my favorite meal since I was a young girl.
I love to look for and identify birds. Every day I am delighted to spot a hawk on a wire or circling in the sky.
Listening to the birds:
I miss them in the winter.
I like to learn their calls.
Love: And the greatest of these is Love.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:3-15
I couldn't think of a knitting one...until just now...
I love knitting with Lynn :o)
Knitting with Lynn combines many of my top ten loves; learning, laughter, long talks and a common love of the Lord.
So that is pretty lovely :o)
What things that begin with "L" do you love?
