Pictures taken with different cameras.

Black and white world. Even in color.

This is one of the first pictures I took with my iPhone 5.  It is a panorama.
Just this week I downloaded a free app called #whitagram that makes it possible to add white bars
on the picture so you can keep it a rectangle and not a square.

I drive this road every day.  I almost slid off this road into a ditch last icy snowfall.
It was scary.

Ginny's funny poses make me laugh.  She has long gangly moose legs.

...it's full of secrets

Katie was standing on a small trunk and I saw some pretty light.  That is the ceiling as a background.  I rarely shoot from below but Katie does not have chin issues...so it turned out pretty.  I made it blurry on purpose.

This is the original.

I liked the shape of Ginny's mouth.
This picture was taken with my Nikon and Lensbaby.

This one too.  Ginny likes to sniff.

“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
Ansel Adams

What a great quote!!

  4. I'm really glad that you didn't slide off that road!

Ginny is an awesome dog-model. Love her long limbs. And Katie's sock bun.

I must bring to my "photography" my love for food, because I seem to take a lot of pictures of my meals - cups of coffee - all the things that make up some of my best travel memories :-)

    1. my problem is, I'm only following my taste buds and love for food. I should probably learn how to do it correctly, hmm?

time to take the doggy out - brrr it's chilly outside! It's at times like this that I wish my dog had long legs like Ginny and could move faster ;-)

I'm an E! addict for red carpet also. Actually, I'm probably more interested in the gowns that the actual awards as I don't go to movies in theaters, just in the comfort of my own family room

Can't wait to see your Monday morning fashion revue.

  12. I adore your photography and miss your "lessons" lovely bokeh - what lens were you using, is 50mm your usual?
I am tired of the White of Winter in NE, and long for some warmer scenes to photograph, otherwise I need to lood to food maybe and that probably needs a flash - decisions, decisions.

  13. Sandy,
Your food does not need a flash. Carry it to a room with nice indirect outside light. Wherever that is in your house. You just need to shoot during the day and not at night.

The two pictures I took of Ginny are with the Lensbaby. I think it is about a 50mm. You put little rings into it to get the different apertures. This one has the 4.0 aperture ring.

My favorite is the B/W photo up top--just can't get enough of those right now. That particular photo really benefited from the white bars; the impact would not have been there in the square.

Really like the quote also :)

  15. That is a great quote!
And your pictures are so good! I love the first one...the contrast of the houses and street on one side of the tree and the trees and field on the other? So lovely. :)

The Ansel Adams quote says it all. That's great!

Miss Rose is challenging me to take better pictures. I just realized that I should probably be shooting in Shutter Priority mode on my camera to capture her in movement. You know, because she never holds still....kinda like Sophia. ;) Is that the correct mode to be using? I tend to use Aperture Priority all the time and I end up with blurry pictures.

I would really like to take the time to get the Flickr thing figured out so everyone can peek into my world.

    1. If your pictures are blurry your shutter speed is too slow. So you can try the "S" button and set your shutter speed faster. (Like over 1/500 or 1/1000) then your camera will pick out the best aperture for that speed. Experiment with the different modes. If you get a shot that is how you want it....notice your stats.

  18. Ansel Adams is so brilliant. And Ginny with the ball in her mouth is very cute. Regal and playful all in one!

And Katie's bun is a work of art.

Happy Friday, all. We'll be at a basketball tournament on Saturday and Sunday and hoping for a good tournament for Katie.

This sweater comes in many colors ranging from
ivory to black and also comes in sizes from small to XXL in men's. One Direction were chosen to appear in the November issue of Wonderland magazine, which will be available at WH Smith and select newsagents on November 8th 2012. The brand has sustained the time testing any brand goes through over the decades thanks to mouth-publicity it receives.
