Going to Omaha

The girls and I are headed to Omaha for Asher's 3rd birthday this weekend!
Patrick Jr. is already there with Matthew and Melinda.

We are so excited to be all together.  Well almost all.  :o(
Patrick Sr. has to stay home for work.  Big projects are put in place on holiday weekends.
Did you know that?
It stinks.

Patrick Sr. will be missed very much.

This is the last time we were all together.

I wonder if the baby pool would hold all the kids.
That would be funny.

Hi Cindy!

*****

So excited to see how Malachi has grown.  I hear he is a happy boy.
Asher should be talking a lot!  He has the cutest voice.

Have you read "The Relatives Came"?

  3. Melinda & Asher are the only ones who know how to keep their eyes open. We're the squinty family

  4. Have fun!! We lived away from family in Atlanta when my first two were born and those big family-coming-to-visit weekends were THE BEST. My kids even remember pieces of them (and they were tiny!).

The Relatives Came...sigh...I love that book. I love all Cynthia Rylant books. She can really make me cry! :-)

  6. Have a fantastic time, Donna. Isn't it one of the best gifts to have kids who like to hang out with you/hang out together?

I love the squinty eyes comment, Emma.

Cynthia Rylant is a fab for sure - she is a smile-bringer. As are you Miz Boo.

Sorry that Patrick Sr must remain. Maybe you can photoshop him in?

    1. *FAV* as in favorite - but she is FAB too! So much for trying to make my comment shorter.

Tapping on the kindle is a challenge for me!

    2. I think "is a fab" can be like being "the huge." Go with it, Swiss Miss (-:

Have a super fun time, Donna! Take lots of pictures (of course) and maybe a video of Asher talking. I have some (gasp!) cassette tapes of my kids talking as little toddlers. I would hide the boom box while we decorated the Christmas tree to catch them talking. Now that I am typing this, I realize I should probably convert those files to digital....

Thanks for the book tip. I have never heard of Cynthia Rylant. I collect children's books and can't wait to start reading to my grandson, now 11 months. Have a wonderful and safe weekend with your dear family. What a joy for you to get to hold Malachai and play with Asher. I feel so bad for Patrick,Sr. Isn't it a blessing to be married to a responsible and hard-working man?

Late to the party...I hope and pray that you are having a wonderful family time. Happy Birthday to Asher! As a librarian I so enjoyed recommending and reading aloud to classes Cynthia Rylant's books. Another one of her books that is about family is: When I Was Young in the Mountains. Even adults enjoy hearing her books read aloud. I did that a few times for older folks and boy did it start them talking about their own childhoods.
    love and prayers, jep
