"That beautiful season the Summer!
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood."
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"The dandelions and buttercups gild all the lawn: the drowsy bee stumbles among the clover tops,
and summer sweetens all to me."
- James Russell Lowell

"Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability."
- Sam Keen

There is a sameness and rhythm to the clock, to the calendar.
It is the thing we all have. Everyone of us shares.

We don't all share the same religion, the same political views,
the same culture, the same circumstances.

But we all share the seasons and the passing of time.

We also share feelings. Everyone knows love and hate. passion and revenge.
And we all know suffering.
More commonality.

And then there is the whir of change.

New, new, new.

The new things we don't know.

Technology, for one. Texting to be precise.

A woman I know was texting her children.
She sent them some information and then a little love.

She typed LOL to them at the end of her message.

They looked with puzzled faces at the LOL at the end of the message.
They wondered, what is so very funny?

"Mom, what is so funny?"

"What do you mean?, replied the mom.

"Well, you are typing LOL and that means 'laughing out loud'.

"Oh!" she giggled, "I thought it meant "love you lots."

And now that they have that all cleared up, she continues to sign off with a LOL.
Which of course if the perfect thing to do :o)

*********

I just now realized that I totally forgot the feast yesterday. That is weird. You'd think doing this for five years, I would know the routine ;o)

Friday's Feast on Saturday

Appetizer

When was the last time you had your hair cut/trimmed?

Soup

Name one thing you miss about being a child.

There we go.
I look forward to your answers!
